MAX shows objects as Bounding Boxes when moving viewport

Hello all,
since recently I must have done something to my 3ds max. When I now pan, move or rotate my viewport all objects in the scene are drawn as bounding boxes. This has not always been so and I find it really annoying and difficult to work with. But unfortunately I have no idea what switch or setting controls it and my manual and google searches havent come up with any solution.
I really hope someone here knows how to turn that back off.
With hopes and regards,
Merl

If Windows is the solution may I please get back the problem?

You've toggled on Adaptive Degradation, 'o' is the default hotkey.

If Windows is the solution may I please get back the problem?
