Cinema4d Mechanism Knight

The story so far...

I started this project back in June '05, got sidetracked and left it gathering dust ever since. Wanting a bit of a change from building starships I decided it was time to do some more work on this model.

The original plan was to build a series of mecha titled the Mechanism Battle Knights of Phaerie. Strongly influenced by Japanese anime show Aura Battler Dunbine the Knights were to be the product of a society whose level of scientific advancement straddled the line between technology and magic. This particular model I called the Elf and there were to be 2 variants, the Snow Elf and the Fire Elf.

These first 4 pictures were originally rendered in 2005 and show most of what I had got done at that time.

looks cool...
I like the design nd the idea...
What are their dimensions? Human-like or Evangelion-like or some?

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

That's why I've became a Warrior of Heart, Defend the one you like, Guard the one you love...

I was thinking along the lines of medium sized anime robot, maybe 5 times the size of a person with a cockpit in the chest area for a pilot. At the same time though I was toying with the idea that while they are giant robots in the land/dimension of Phaerie, they are also able to operate in our world where they are only an inch or so high. Whether I go anywhere with that latter idea remains to be seen.

Nice lines!

At 10 meters they are considered 'small' for the most part. Macross has mecha the is in the 17-30 meter range and even they are considered 'small' sized by other anime. Still at 10 meters it's got a good size to it! lol!

Sometimes the worst opponent is the one closest, yet ignorant of the truth.

I have to say that I'm impressed. Especially the joints, those always manage to make me give up.

And that idea of being only an inch tall in 'our' world can provide some hilarious moments.

,,Two heads are better than one. Two heads sharing one body means trouble the size of Jupiter. So the next time you ask for a second AI, captain, I'm going to depressurize the bridge." - Said by a certain AI in control of a military ship who loves practical jokes.
