| Game Models I don't really have any good high poly models so I'll just post some of these game models I made. These models were made for the Freespace 2 SCP engine. FS2 is a great game that went unnoticed by many due to the fact that Interplay never advertised the game in any way at all. FS2 shipped to the shelves without most of the fans of the original game even knowing it hense the game made low sales. FS2 is a classic space sim that still has a thriving community and since the source code has been released an umbrella project known as the Source Code Project has made FS2 a far better game in numerous aspects. I chose FS2 because it is easy to mod and the SCP changes enable the engine to handel much higher polygon counts (I read that a BSG mod has a 30k poly model of Galactica and still runs great). My 3ds renderer might have been a little buggy because everything was overlighted. I reduced the intensity of the lights but nothing worked so I just lived with it. Pic 1 -Thunder Heavy Fighter. My favorite fighter in my mod. Fast, agile, well armored, and powerful. The only problems are that it is a big target and easy to hit and the wing mounted weapons made leading and converging targets with the 8 cannons a little hard. Pic 2 -Blizzard Heavy Interceptor I love the design alot . Not as fast as the Thunder or as maneuverable but can accelerate and decelerate much faster. The weapons are closer to the fusalage making it fairly easy to track targets.Pic 3 -Hurricane 5 Many of you should be familar with this one. I never got to finish a high poly one because of a design flaw when I was modeling. This is a monster ingame and seriously powerful. The armor is so thick that sending in bombers is a waste of time. Not many ships can kill one of these (except for an FS2 Sathanas ). This is my all time favorite design and if anyone were to copy it I would be furious ).Pic 4 -Hurricane 6 A new model! The Hurricane 6 is the 5's little yet much stronger and evil brother. Though the same size at 6km, this model lost the gigantic plasma turrets in favor of large beam turrets, including 2 huge double gun turrets in the front. Slightly weaker in armor, but much faster. Also it is the first hurricane to extensively use anti-fighter/bomber weapons. Including powerful turret mounted beam cannons that fire a constant beam that tries to track you. I was killed numerous times against this one. Unlike the fighters, the cap ships have what I call a dedicated texture. Meaning I UVW unwrapped the models and textured them by hand in photo shop and giving them a gorgous high res skin with incredible detail. The fighters have a simple rendered to texture skin making them highly inefficient ingame. The Thunder's skin is a 4096x4096 texture which is ugly while the Hurricanes have a 2048x2048 texture yet look FAR better! So go ahead and critisize the fighters and adore the cap ships. Also the fighters are not very efficient models. Both of these fighters have around 4000 polies with most of the polyons being on the engines and weapons and NOT of the fusalage. The Hurricane 5 is an extremely efficient model at 9000 polies (an older version of the H5 model was once 15,000 polies). |

| That was the inspiration and a lack of finding a design that is so efficient. Seriously, the only thing that might be as manueverable would be a cube with dozens of thusters around it so I went with a starfury design. |

Sorry Your ship models are really great and you did make them for game i wanted to ask you maybe your know about Enterprise Temporal Cold War its a Half-Life 2 total conversion and only modeling crew are CaptainSource our leader and me, i am just making props for game i know to uvw unwrap but i am not good in texturing... I want to ask you will you join us it is not some obligation that you must report every day or making the models all the time we are making slow but quality progress we are making what we can in spare time and when we can or will to make something please consider it. | Some more views of those capital ships would be nice. Tho I do feel that I have seen them someplace before. Probably just me tho, so don't fret. The fighters however, remind me too much of the Thunderbolt Starfury from B5. My only prob with it. But its all good work dude |
