texturing on the pylon is nearly finished... the color variations are a bit too subtile (each panel has a slightly different color actually), so i gotta adjust that a bit...

also i experimented a bit with anisotropy... doesn't look good on the render, because i only used the spec map for this, but i like the general effect of this feature, so i guess i'll also create anisotropy maps for each texture...

ok, created some simple but effective anisotropy maps... got two slightly different setups, but can't decide, which one looks better... so what do you think?

Impressive progress.
It all depends on the look you´re going for. The first one looks like it´s been kept in good shape while the second one looks quite worn.

Somebody blow something up, I'm in a really bad mood. Thanks in advance.

I say the second one, if not just because it needs to be doing something, however if you can I reccomend doing a turntable test, to see how it is performing at different angles.

Oh and By the way, wonderful work so far. Just a shame Max's rendering engine lacks some features I would recommend you do with this model. Keep up the good work!

Visit my Endless Pluto Station project, I'm still working on it, honest!

The second one seems more.... metallic? The first one strikes me as a little plastic. Too smooth.

"Mr. Worf, do you know Gilbert and Sullivan?" "No sir. I have not had a chance to meet all the new crewmembers since I have been back."

I like the second pic (21-04) better as it isn't as shinny.
