Did more work today on my X-303 mesh. With diston's hull texture this baby is starting to come together. As from the show they dident add that many greebles until the final episode they took the cheap way and obviosly used a 2D texture for 50% of the ship.

Advice to anyone making an X-303. Dont referance other peoples work. Use screencaps from the show which can be found here. Theres nothing wrong with referancing other peoples work. Its just if you build something off of someone elses model your model will be far away from accurate to the real thing. I have been using ONLY these screencaptures.

Just a little update to my little assault/scout/patrol ship. I think I'll call it the Sherwood Class.

Just a few tweaks.
-added some decals including the monochrome SGC symbol up front
-moved dorsal guns closer to the ends
-added rear hatch for bay access (I know you can't see in from this angle, but it is there now.)
-modified the engine "intakes" - tweaked color and falloff range
-added energy "bolts" for front gun. (Don't ask me how I got it to look that way, I just got lucky. And I think they look pretty good.)
-modified hull texture, and will continue to do so until I get it right.

I will be adding interior bridge elements later. And a few more "decals" and a few "greeble like" elements.

Again, she's a simple ship. But very utilitarian. Oh, and I forgot one thing she could do: deploy space mines and small satalites. I forgot to mention that the "mission" compartment area could be sealed off from the rest of the little ship and opened to space for deploying things like that. Hmmm, can you say cloaked space mines with a FoF receiver? (FoF = Friend or Foe). Very usefull for those uninvited "guests".

Heres some things I was working on in Sketchup. Nothing to crazy just a 304 and a puddle jumper. Hope you like. Anyone know of a way to export sketchup files to 3Ds max or anything?

Introducing a new line of Battlecruiser called the Striker Class. The first ship of its kind will be the "Athena" Shes fast, and tough for a small ship. Can carry atleast up to 6 F-302s.
