yeah I read about that in your Argos topic, you got any images of this? I must admit I don't know what the X699 was so you'll have to enlighten me.

Also here's the latest pic of the Valkyrie. The bay is now lit (also has some F302s in there, I don't know who it's by so I can't put credits on, if they're yours please let me know and I'll update the image). Hopefully soon the bays will be full of my own fighter design (which I'm yet to design, another thing that I should have added to my list of things to do!). Also now has turrets as well

hey scorpius im just wondering where you are going to place your bridge? is it in the same location as the daedalus or is it more internal to provide protection?

It looks so mean now!(I hope you have kept a copy of the original design. I liked that too, and would love a set of orthos)
You know what it reminds me of now? The Defiant from DS9(In a good way, of course).
Will the smaller bay have a rear wall on it?

Also, i honestly like it the way it is now.
Just different enough from Daedalus, so we know it used some different principles and tech in it's construction, but the perfect design lineage to show where it came from.
My Brother, however, mentioned he thought the side skirts of the flat-deck should extend out and down around the flight pods.
I am not sure if it works, but i threw something together very quickly.
As i say, i think it looks fine the way it is(But i promised my Brother i'd mention it to you). Once again, forgive my crummy photoshop skills...

Glad you like it daniel. I would hope by the time we get to 2017 when they build ships like the Argo and Valkyrie, they would figure out it's kinda stupid putting a bridge right sticking out like they do on current ships. So yeah it's internal to provide protection. Also no other ships in the SG universe seem to have huge antennae sticking out of the hulls so I also figured they would have internal sensor and communication arrays etc.

I did look at having the wings come down further and cover the pods but I feel that deck looks better if it's longer than it is wide, having it cover the pods means it becomes wider (obviously) and if I made it longer again it would just be too huge I think. The only other thing I could do is decrease the size of the larger fighter bay and bring the whole thing in more. The fighter I'm thinking about designing was going to have retractable wings anyway so they'd be able to fit more in there. Not sure. Glad you like the ship anyway

Lol, will do! I think I'm ready to start work on my next project then. Just to decide which one I'm going to do. Any requests? It's going to be a starbase, drydock, tel'tak/puddle jumper style craft (capable of going through the stargate), 302 style fighter or an al'kesh style craft.

Actually(And i'm just rambling here. Feel free to ignore me). I had an idea for a future SG craft. The idea was that the SGC has a great deal of alien derived technology at it's disposal, but not enough time or funds to develop it all, and the R&D gets farmed out to other nations in the IOC.
My idea was that Russia gets the new "302 replacement/PuddleJumper" project.
My personal idea was an adaptation of a recent GI Joe fighter aircraft(Here is what the original toy looks like). My first variant was a wide-winged version, for deployment from Daedalus class vessels:

I then made a "Stealth" variant with longer flatter wings(Shown at an intermediate painting stage):

The next version(Where the PuddleJumper part would come in), would be very similar to the first version, but the wings would be switchblade affairs which would scissor into the body, and allow the craft to fly into a stargate. It would have Asgard Anti-Gravity tech, and a portable version of the DHD for pilots to remote-dial addresses.
I have not had the time to build this version, but i did manage to make a sketch...

I think switchblade would be the way to go for a multi-function Fighter/Jumper.
Just my thoughts.

you have to also realise the jumper is not just a fighter, its also a cargo and troop carrier, small 2 man ship that can fit through the gate is kinda like that death glider they used in first episode of 3rd season, to help sg1 and other sg teams. You want to make a Jumper type earth vessel its gonna have to be like a cargoship/troop ship
