got it, thanks very much for those Bar, should be a great help when I get back to it. I shall probably start the whole thing over like I did with the Valkyrie. The mesh itself has gotten a bit messy so Id like to go back to the beginning and make it better (hopefully I can improve on the current design as much as I did the Valkyrie)

I had an idea that pilots wouldnt climb into the cockpit like they do in the F302, but rather the underneath of the craft would actually lower, the pilots would climb in, then it would raise back up again (anyone remember the angel interceptors in the original captain scarlet series? bit like that). This MIGHT mean I'll make the bottom of the mesh able to lower and raise up and also include a low poly inner for the cockpit, not sure I'll do that yet or not though. I've included 2 shots from above the fighter, one with wings open one shut, and one shot of the underneath
Only thing I can say about this is it's a neat design but switch blade wings are rather pointless in space, arent they?

they're not there for any aerodynamic reasons or anything like that, like you say they'd be useless in space. They're there for 2 reasons: the first is to reduce space needed in fighter bays so a carrier can take more fighters, and the other is so it's narrow enough to fit through a stargate should it need to.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have no wings at all?
But the craft should probably be able to do atmospheric flight too and doesn't want to rely on anti-grav drive all the time...though it would be a great advancement in Tau'ri technology to have fully anti-grav powered vehicles that do not need to bother with things like aerodynamics
