| SFM Guru | looking good scootes. Looks like you've got to grips with max quite quickly (I've never used it so I'm not sure how similar it actually is, maybe not as difficult as coming from an entirely different app, don't know). Maybe a larger render would help us to see the details you're talking about better, but it's looking good so far. For the Zeus, if it was me designing it I'd probably raise the platform just a little bit, and move it back a bit as well. The middle section of the ship I'd probably extend back as well, maybe not quite level with the engines but further back anyway. Like I said that's just me. I've just realised it looks at the moment like a bigass SG version of a Star Wars Y-Wing bomber at the moment. |

you know I never noticed that it does look like a bigass Y-Wing! I personaly thought it looked like somthin from star trek but thats just me and me is crazy  I will try to do that when I rebuild it into Max should be somtime this weekend and will also try to get some close-ups of the new things on Hammond. also I use several programs to get every thing the way I want. the programs I use are: Milkshape, Gmax, Max7, and Blender. well thats strange I can use all those programs and still cant spell worth a dam Regards Jesh Hehe bad spelling rules

| SFM Guru | [life_story]I actually started off in Milkshape myself. When i first started with 3d work it was supposed to be mainly for game modding for Star Trek Armada. I stumbled across this site while looking for tutorials and I realised high poly 3d art was much more where I'd like to go than low poly gaming models. It wasn't long before I got Max (version 3 I think I had originally). I've given Blender a go a few times but every time I do my head explodes and that hurts, especially when it happens repeatedly. So I've been with Max ever since.[/life_story] I look forward to the progress with both the Hammond and the Zeus |

also the only reason I have Milkshape is for modding freelancer I even use Gmax to make the models just export them into Milkshape. as for the blender part of my experience I know how you feel. althou one day I was attempting to wright an import/export plugin from scrach and I axadentaly made a virus instead and it completely crashed my computer within an hour of making it! needles to say that was the last time I treid that but anyways after fixing my computer I never went back and downloaded blender again I found it to be a royal pain in my a**!! And here is some close-ups of the stuff I added to the Hammond first one is a missle launcher concept I had second one is of some windows in the nose all C&C is welcome as usual.

| SFM Obsessed | Space Battlecruiser Yamato Great windows there scootes. is it textures or just simple cut outs? Oh, and the missile launchers could do with some hatches over the front. Just my two cents. Great modeling though )---------------------------------- On another note, don't watch too much old school anime. It'll fry your brains and put your creative mind into a different place!! Introducing a little concept i thought up: Its Japan's first BC 304 (built a few years after the world is told about Earths fleet of Space worthy Battle Cruisers), and as luck would have it Area 51 needed a test base for there latest big lazer beam... So in an weird twist of fate (Area 51 called it odd scheduling) the newest Space Battle Cruiser Yamato had its own Wave Motion Gun!!! (Under the strict supervision of the scientists of course.... ) BTW: The Towers a re arrangement of other systems seeing that the new weapon takes up a lot of space ----------------------------- Trust me, those Deadulus classes are a pain to draw on paper. Hope i pulled it off though. Enjoy guys and girls |

| Oh no he didn't! Yup, I did. Ok, got another one for ya. For starters, it's not 100% done, AND it's not 100% exactly the way I imagined. BUT, it conveyes the general idea I had in mind. It's tentatively named the Vostok class. Yes, it's another Russian design. There is a back story for this one though. The Vostok is Russia's second production design put into service. It's a rather unusual design, swapping the missle tubes with the auxiliary craft hangar bays. There is some logic to this, and it is a sound design. Russia wanted a larger role in Atlantis without having to bow to the IOA and SGC command structure. The Vostok was the perfect compromise. The advantage of having the hangar on top of the main hull is that the ship can land in water and still conduct aircraft missions, (IE F-302 and the forthcoming Mig-49). This also enables a large portion of the main hull to serve as a landing strip, with less space needed inside the hangar for that purpose. Also, take offs and landings can be done in a MUCH more rapid pace. Secondly, with the old location for the hangars now vacant the missle tubes can be relocated to each out board pod. The enables the Vostok to carry far more missles and in a safer location. Plus, an added bonus is that missle launches won't obstruct the visual sight line of the bridge. The missle bays and tubes are pressurized and missles can be launched when the ship is landed on water. The Vostok gives Russia a viable long range high capacity ship and allows them to have a pressence in Atlantis without having to expend more money to the Expedition or the IOA/SGC. The Vostok is: (Current stats) 600 Meters long 375 meters wide 100 meters high Can carry 30 F-302 fighters Can carry 88 missles 300 Crew members 27 Single barrel rail guns (Russian designed) 5 quad barrel rail guns (US designed) Asgard Shields Asgard Hyperdrive Asgard beaming tech Nuclear reactor (for auxiliary power, from Russian ICBM sub) It's only about 50% done, but at a point where I can take a step back and think about it for a while. I know, it's not jaw dropping, mind blowing purty, and is quite a weird design, but it does do what I wanted it to: not be so "conventional". I didn't want to do another Daedalus clone, I wanted to be, well, a bit Freeky. I also wanted to provoke some inspiration in you guys,...get your creative juices flowing. I hope to inspire you all with some new ideas and spark your creative genius. Oh, and you have to give me a break on this one. I did it one handed and heavily medicated thanks due to my burned hand. I hope you can let this one slide. Otherwise, any thoughts? |

| SFM Guru | i like, very battlestarry. I'd like to see an animation of 302s taking off from and landing on the ship. An update from my era of stargate and more specifically my Asgard class. Not a huge update but i've added more details (I really hate details, partly cos I really don't know where to start, but I've tried my best) and added beam weapons all over the ship too. C&C welcome, nay, required as always! |
