Still in the process of building the Quads ![]() Added the strengthening struts inside the cargo bay... ![]() Finally a perspective |

)thanks freek and scorpius. Yeah the ships premises is that Earth's allies arn't happy about our ever growing Space Navy, so the goverments build a large deep space research Class (named after any famous explorer/scientist. The "McKay" was rejected immediatly ) to go further than the Stargate can. Oh, and weapons wise, the Cook does have some missiles (like i said) and 12 AA railguns (which are nifty because they pop out of hatches in the hull ). Just enough for defence, but nothing that could take down, say a Gould Hatak, easily. More info and pictures when i get the thread started (and i'm suffuring from Scorpius-bracket-itis )Oh, and Dr Lee. Solid modeling. Although the wall supports could be less, and maybe some across the top? Oh, and can i go on the Quad Bike? pleasepleasepleaseplease (etc) Cheers Guys | |||

| SFM Guru | I'm gonna try and get that published in a medical journal lol Nice progress Dr Lee, loving the quad bike idea. Maybe a fork lift for those hard to reach places? ![]() I was messing around with the textures for the Argo and I think I've got as far as I can before I get help from someone who knows what they're doing (I mean know what they're doing with the textures, not mental help lol) (and again with the brackets!) so I decided to render out a little fleet scene with a few Asgard classes surrounding the new beast (now I'm gonna have to go back to the Asgard and model some more details on it and *sigh* cut some windows into it as well). I'll render out a proper copy with a decent background and everything once I finally put a seal on the models and leave them alone for good. I'm also not sure whether 27 is too low a number for the Argo considering the time frame |

| Still in progress..... ROTFLMFAO! Hey, when you scratch my belly, my leg shakes too! LOL! I'm just joking, jeesh! Anyways.... Been working on the Minotaur a bit lately. I finally decided to tackle some real greebles, not just plain bits and pieces, but seriously modeled sets. Lemme tell you, they were a royal pain in the mik'ta! I'm serious. I spent about 8 hours trying to get those bloody things right. Heck, some of the pieces are so small, you can't even see them unless you zoom in like 7 times. To give you an example, the narrow main hull in front of the "engineering" section is about 125m long, yet, some of those really small elements I modeled are only .17 m in size. Some of those greebles I decided to put an "Ancient" feel to them, since there is an Atlantis expedition and they have to be sending some knowledge back to earth. And hey, that has to be worth something right. I have been concentrating on those greeble type elements so much that I haven't even started the bottom or the back yet. As soon as I get my two new computers and laptop, I'm gonna start, or try to, do my work in either 3d Max or Lightwave. I just gotta wait for that quad core processor price to come down about a hundred bucks or so. I really need to offload some tasks from my main computer, I do WAAAYY too much on it. It's my 3d machine, my web, video editing, gaming, stero, VCR, NAS and router controller, and a ton of other things too. I did this to my last main computer too. I had about 40,000 hours on my last main computer before I replaced that one, and I think I'm beyond that with this one now. Yes, that's forty thousand hours of running time. A buddy of mine has some tools where he can get a good estimate of the number of total read/write times. My comps hardly ever stop working on this or that. Time for an upgrade, seriously! Back to the Minotaur....Heck, there are some pieces that I like so much I think I'm gonna save them for use on something else. I think I'm going to try something new for the sublight engines. Anyways, back to the grindstone. So, I'd put this little puppy at about 50% done. What do you guys think so far? Coming along nicely?? |

| SFM Guru | could tell you were getting worried tadz, considering your posts on LWG when it went down! and you do realise this is a WIP thread yes? Most of the projects we see in here are in the development stages, I'm fairly certain Dr Lee wasn't planning on leaving the back of the ship as it is |

| I should have asked this in my last post but as Stargatecaps is down i don't have any reference pics for the screens around the bridge. Anyone got any good views of them? |

| SFM Guru | I can't help you with the references I'm afraid but I actually had that very same idea of having a CASF thread in the art gallery as well, in fact I was going to suggest it when SFM went offline and forgot about it until you mentioned it. Maybe Freek should start one up as this one is all down to him in the first place |
