Thank you. You can have one for the small price of 1 metric ton of weapons grade naquadah (SG), 2 Orion slave girls (From ST: TOS), and a luxury suite in a hotel on Coroscant (SW). Throw in seasons tickets to the Caprica Pyramid games (BSG) and I'll throw in the mud flaps and undercoating for free.

Only suggestion: i think you need some bigger panels and details, just to help people find a scale with the ship and to break up the huge bits of side that have no detail on. Just my 2 cents on the matter
Oh brother, BSG? That show has gone down hill faster than a fat chick on roller skates. What do they do, play that entire show in slow motion now? They could spend an entire episode with Tigh or Starbuck deciding whether or not to take a drink. The show started out ok, but now moves slower than death row.

Bigger panels & details? Everywhere or just on the sides? Do you mean the paneling texture? If you mean the sides, well, I'm not done with it yet. I still have work to do, just not a gazillion things anymore. I'm thinking of putting in some Prometheus style details scattered about on the sides of the front long section. Usually, I do all the details last, but I'm going piece by piece this time. Scale wise, don't the windows help with that? I'm thinking that the ship would be somewhere in between the Promy and the Daedalus.

Good work. The horns are really prominent now, too.

Thank you Bar. Drone launchers though? That would be a no. lol. Especially since this ship is intended for a time frame of no more than 2 years after the events of SG-1 "Unending". We haven't gotten to the point of building and integrating drones into our ships. I think that's decades away yet. I still haven't figured out why they haven't borrowed a few drones and a jumper from Atlantis, put them on the Odyssey and used them together to punch through the Ori shields. (Or why the SGA hasn't done that either for that matter.) Just use the jumper as a means to control the drones so you can really augment the Daedalus class ship's fire power. Imagine the Lucian Aliance's suprize if they had the Odyssey cornered and they suddenly got a few drones shoved up their tailpipes! But noooooo, they can't do that. That would be logical, and they can't do that. (That's one of my biggest complaints about script writers, they don't make good tacticians.)

The idea behind those "swirlies" is three-fold, one part structural reinforcement, another part armour plating to sensative areas, and the last being structure for sensors, sheild emitters, piping etc. The external reason (meaning me) for them is for estetic reasons only. Hey, if you build it, you might as well make it look good, right?

Oooo good Idea I like It!!
The old series was great for when it was on, and for the age I was back then. The new series started out pretty good, but has since come to a melodramatic soap opera fizzle. They've concentrated too much on the characters' emotions and personalities while almost completely ignoring the journey they are on. It's the journey they are on and how they react to it that's important. No good story is 100% about the people in it. The story itself is kind of a character too. If I want to watch anything that slow, boring and depressing I'll watch C-span coverage of congress.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. The Minotaur is not done. There's just more done than there is left to do. And yes, my nacelles are sexy. lol! My medication is fine. lol.

Oh so do I not count as one of the guys then? lol. Yeah I'm loving the progress, I'm not sure I wouldn't change the shape of the front fin bits, bit longer and not so wide. Speaking of the nacelle type things I was going to ask if you could show us some other views of the ship.

It took me a while to get used to the new BSG (I was a real fan of the old show as well) but once I realised it was really just a show with the same name that shared a few aspects rather than a straight remake I started enjoying it. I Haven't enjoyed the 3rd season as much as the first 2 (especially episodes like Pegasus and Ressurection Ship) but there's only been a few in the 3rd season that I've really enjoyed. I'm hoping they get the show back on track in season 4.

Oh and you can have the luxury Coruscant apartment, I never use it anyway, I can spare the naquadah (my ships are much more naquadah efficient) but I'm ehhh...keeping the slave girls

LMAO

i was thinking 'Lucky Bar' when i read that

A non-piccie update for the 'Churchill' (As i will now call my ship)

Slowely working my way to panelling the top of the cargo bay... At this rate i could have the whole cargo bay paneled in about a week

I'll try and remember to post a piccie of the finished panelling later on tonight/tomorrow morning.

You guys have my skills supremely outgunned, but I figure I can show you my first model (and so far, my only one). It's extremely low-poly- somewhere around 2k or so, IIRC. I'll follow up with the exact count once I get home and can pull it up. In case you don't recognize it, it's the "needle threader" from Season 3 episode 1. Originally made in GMax then imported into Milkshape3D for use in my Freelancer mod.

He he he! Yes you do count as "one of the guys" Scorp. It's just that since the Minotaur IS more heavily influenced by your Argo and Asgard classes, you get special attention. That's all. Other views are on their way. Had to wait for that until I atleast had a bottom section, which I didn't even have before now. The front fins have been a huge bane of my existance, along with the "horns" pieces. Nothing has ever suited me 100%. Prior to me even bringing up the model at all, I had tried atleast a dozen different ways of doing them. Nothing seemed to work very well at all. I originally wanted those fins to be more like the front of the Beliskner class Asgard ship's, but when ever I did it, it didn't quite look right at all. And by wide I am guessing you mean from the port to starboard dimension right? I, just now this very second had an idea pop into my head about what I can do with those things to add a little shape to them. And if it works, it should really help bridge my design idea of them being part Asgard and part Tau'ri style. So, some new and different views coming up soon, probably later today, (this afternoon). Oh, and you like green ladies too I take it? LOL!

For a minute there I had this image of 20 women wearing latex and was a bit confused. Isn't it usually the guys who have to wearing the latex "rain coat"? You know, latex - lycra, got the two confused. I am still half asleep. Well, being a part of the furniture is ok as long as it's the love seat and not the commode.

I'd certainly have fun if I was in that situation. At the end of the class I'd be like, ok ladies, time to hit the showers. Who is bringing the louffa?

Congrats on your first model. With doing models for mods, can't you do a higher poly version and "compress" it down later for use in a mod? I'm not familiar with doing models for mods, so I don't know. Just wondering because it would be nice to be able to build a sweet model in high poly for outside the game and then be able to just reduce the polys or "compress" it for mod use.

Ahh, that just made me think back to 1996 when I had this "incident" with me and three women. Hmmm, the good ol' days. Oddly enough, my female roommate at the time was not disgusted with me when she found out what happened that night. Most of the time, gals would call you a pig for something like that. She didn't. In fact, I think it kinda turned her on. And the rest is history as they say. Yes, spring 1996, that was an EPIC year, the year I felt like Hugh Hefner. In fact, spring 1997 wasn't bad either. Ah yes, *eyes getting glossy* that was the year with the Congressman's daughter. Heck, my dorm gave me a standing ovation for that incident, the entire dorm! Man, I hate getting older. I could never get away with stuff like that now.

Anyways, I'll be back later with some updates and new views.

Ok-aaay. This has Got to be the weirdest page of thread i've EVER read

Now BACK TO ZE TOPIC FOOLS!!!

Freek: when i said panels i mean't the whole ship. Textures are fine and dandy, but they don't show much ... texture (ie: height, depth, whatever). And yah the windows help...but...um...they seem to be in just one place More over the whole ship would be fantastic and help with the scale/

BTW: does anyone know how to make the corrogated effect over the hanger bay doors? (ie: Like the Prom and on Freek's Minotaur). I'm..er....not entierly how [seriously: not a noob. still. ]. Any help would be great

cjabates: thats one mighty, mighty, MIGHTY fine model. Looks dead cool, of a bit low poly. Seriously, bump up the poly's and make it detailed and all. I just love the cool shape and engines. Such an amazing design you've got there. Very unique. Keep at it.

Oh, and sorry if nobody liked the new avatar. Think of him as a moody a$$ed pirate instead *flees*
