Finally got some time today to do some more work on the Yakami. Things I've done since the last images: extended the fins downwards, I think it improves the balance of the ship; bombing hatches, 4 twin launchers on each side (may revise that downward depending on Raynor's input); front bay hatch, used when the ship is landed if the crew can't use asgard transporters or want to use it for any other reason (the image with the hatches closed has an error with the front hatch, has been fixed now); rear underside hatch for deployment of "Horizon" weapon platforms or similar; and finally I've lengthened the ship as well, more streamlined now I think.

I'm going to need help with scaling, it's one thing I'm really not very confident with. If somebody could possible show me what they think a reasonable size for both windows and a person would be in comparison to the rest of the ship (Raynor, you might want to do this, that way you get a scale you're happy with). I'm going to upload a side on image in my next post which might be easiest to show this on.

C&C welcome as always

Man that is looking sweet!

Out of interest are all of your ships done to the same scale?

I never really gave much attention to scale, not to any great degree of accuracy anyway. I did, of course, always have in my mind an idea of how big roughly one ship was compared to another. The first time I started to think about scales properly was when I was adding windows to the revised Argo model. For that I took a side render from that Daedalus model being made over at LWG by...Cmd Foster was it? Anyway I added that to a plane then made the argo half as big again as the D, and made the windows the same size. That much was fine because I knew it was realistic (at least it was made like the D anyway) but I want to be able to model a few interiors for the Yakami (the Horizon and front bays to be precise, I don't want to get as far as modelling windows then realise that the ship can only be operated by midgets lol

yeah I'll do orthos when it's done if people want them! My plan is to leave the interiors of the horizon bay and front sections until the rest of the ship is done. I need to get the ship in a presentable state very soon, so I'll be getting to work on details tomorrow, including the windows if I get a response about that as well. Then hopefully get into the job of texturing before the end of the week. The ship may be rushed for now but I will improve it a lot (I hope!). Glad you like it anyway

Little something I've been working on (which will be released) - a low poly version of my Atlantis city. Currently it stands at around 5000 polies.

I'm not sure about the size of Deadalus, but Yakami should be like 1/3 long compare to Daeadalus. So, still much larger than Kesh (and equal to Prometheus) but smaller than Ha'tak or Toilet.
