how long have you spent modeling this because it seems you have spent a lot of time with the detail

And to say how long I've spent on it is difficult to say to be honest. I first started the model in June but I spent quite a time away from modelling between then and now, not to mention starting other models such as my Titan battleship. But this is the first model where I've tried modelling the panels which I spent a bit of time experimenting with that as well, so yeah I expect overall I've spent a fair amount of time on it.

| SFM Obsessed | Just out of interst Scop, what technique do you use to create the plates? I usually grind to a halt when i need to plate up my ships (not really sure what to do, and maybe just plan lazy ), so any advice would be fab! |

| the render looks really good. Although one small nitpick, is that the lighting of the 'bright' planet, doesnt match the rather dullish dark not as much 'sun' as the planet is receiving. now you could argue that its a non-reflective radarish material, but those type have very soft specular even displaced light surfaces like 'cloth' would. other than that small nitpick (for i have yet to do a good scene render myself) it looks fantastic |

| SFM Guru | Well it's really because of the quite frankly shoddy texturing job. The problem is as soon as I turn the lighting up on the ship it washes out the details and make it look incredibly bland. I might try decreasing the brightness of the planet and see if that helps it. EDIT: Ok I tried adjusting the colour balance and the brightness in Photoshop and I think it's improved it but others may disagree! |

| SFM Obsessed | Not sure about the darkened version. especially since you lose the planets atmosphere! Scop, are you trying to kill us!! ![]() If you decide to re-render the scence, maybe add less powerful lights nearer the ships, to light the shadows a bit more. Also, don;t forget to put some spotlights around the hanger bay. would be preatty tricky to land there atm just my 2 cents |
