Are you sure the hyperdrive is mounted underneath the main hull? I always thought the hyperdrive was mounted on top, behind the cockpit. The blue glow from that area is consistent with Daedalus's and Prometheus's hyperdrives.

I am only guessing, but the pyramid was the only part removed and replaced when the ship went into full production(After they gave up on the hyperdrive idea completely).
Also, the area behind the cockpit is the primary intake for the rocket engine(The aerospikes have their own intakes).
As i say, i was just guessing, but it fits the facts, until we get more info from a specific episode.

i agree that the full production f-302s dont have hyperdrives due to the fact of cost and that they only work for 3 seconds at a time lol.

Rocket engines don't have intakes, they carry all their fuel onboad.

Also, did they ever say they abandoned the hyperdrive on the 302's? At least some production models do have them. The combat tactics that could be used if they have a hyperdrive, even for just 3 seconds, are interesting. And I'm not just talking about what we saw against Anubis's ship.

Damn nice Raffs.
Can't imagine how hard it must be to land a 302, coz if you tilt the wings even just small bit, the wings will hit the ground before the wheels do. :P

Landings are probably computer controlled, for that very reason...
One of the plus points of launching from the Daedalus, and landing in Zero-G, i suppose...
