Wow, that models really great. Am I right in thinking it is the same model that you can buy from Starship Modeler (it was made by Barry Murray....aka Bar?)

Thanks for that link, those references will be a great help, especially since I'm to lazy to go get more myself

As for the photograph, it probably didnt help that I took it only half an hour ago (about 9pm in the UK Midlands)

No problemo.
Don't mention it.
Yeah, Just wait till it's lighter.
This is indeed the same Daedalus available from SSM.
Keep your projects coming!

Drop Ship WIP

Here's some pics of my Tau'ri dropship (the Firefly, gunship, Tau Orca Mix)....well its only the troop compartment at the moment, this ships should be able to fit in a Deady hanger, if not, I'll guess I'll make a special carrier.
Basically the function of this ship is to drop marines onto planets (without stargates or far away from them) will also be able to carry small vehicles (ie. MALPs, Warthogs, Quadbikes). The ship itself will have only a small crew(probs 5 at most) for piloting, navigation gunners etc. plus the marines. Designed to be a VTOL ship with rotating side engines (a la firefly/Orca), both atmospheric and space capable. Minimal weapons, basically a pair of manually operated dual-railguns (SW gunship), 4 point-defence railguns and smoke launchers(cover when landing).
Hope to finish this soon, but is very first 3D ship (only other thing I have done is a cabinet design for my A level tech) so pointers and C&C if possible please.

Well I haven't posted in a while but I thought I'd share my new project and the one that I will finish 100% this time. The reason being that it will be 3D printed hopefully by this weekend. So I figure if I put in a few hours a night and knock out the greebling I can get this thing done by sunday.

I am using Solidworks for all the modeling and detailing. The reason being I can control the wall thickness keep track of the physical size and material used for the 3D print aswell as use some of the mold features available in SW since I will hopefully be making a mold of the piece for reproduction. If all goes well I will also make a PJ next.

Heres some pics to show some of the details. Still a bit to go but It'll be fun.

I can't believe that I'm not reciving any notifications for this thread -.- Great work so far to everyone! And now I really do want to buy that Daedalus model Bar, hopefully I can save up enough during my summer break since I want to get Mario Kart Wii. I haven't posted anything here for a while now since my friend and I are starting to work on our animation now. If he agrees I'll post it here when it's done (or try to link it here if I can't post it)

Mario Kart Wii will be the greatest racing game released on the Wii! http://www.callingallstargatefans.co...d-wips-f2.html Calling All Stargate Fans - The site for Stargate fans to show dedicated Stargate stuff.

Finished up the hanger bays and started making the cutouts and guides for the pieces to go together after they are printed and cast. Also threw in a few exploded views so you can see how they will go together. Also to show the detail of the model.
