nothing i can'te get to a point where it can render.

My computer can't handle the amount of info it's being told to render.

I'm tempted to try and render each ship one-by-one then photoshop them into a single image.....

are you using the scanline or Mental Ray? If MR then you can turn up your memory usage. Shoot for about 120% of your physical memory and it works well.

but there is no shame in rendering seperately. In fact if you do you can reposition your ships in real time without having to rerender. that's what I had to do on some of my Stargate World pieces.

Nice designs btw.

Im assuming it just sort of hangs before it should render. Sounds like you will just have to do 1 at a time. Make sure to take a look at each ship and optimize em, cuz unless the scene has millions and millions of polys it should render fine, just slow. I can handle multimillion poly scenes on a 4 year old laptop with on board graphics so it sounds like you may just have verts/polys thats causing issues. If you have any sort of advanced lighting like mental ray or ray traced shadows you may want to turn the samples and other settings.

The file slowed down my computer to a crawl... it would take about 60 seconds just to switch between the Max window and a Firefox window.... IN the end i just got fed up and i've deleted the line up image.

New ship... again.

Last night i went back and started looking at the Wasp to see about fixing the out of alingement vertices (Interestingly enough i now find out that i can't create a simple box in Max 9 without the vertices being out of alingement, no matter what i do).

Anyway... I started fiddling about with the shape of the Wasp and i suddenly got an image of the 'Little Bird' helo's....

This was the first 'finished' idea...

Annoyingly i left my computer rendering a shot of all three Helo's over night and about 3am my computer set off an automatic restart update.

And corrupted EVERY SINGLE FREAKING FILE that contained a Mosquito (As i've named the design)... Every single blasted one, from the original file to the back up to the auitoback-ups

So i started again....

The Mozzie is smaller and less armed than a WASP or Hornet. Four static railguns adorn the sides of the craft and provide the ships only armament.

As before the power plant is Jumper Derived while Sheilds are not equipped. The only Asgard influence on the craft is the navigation and radar systems.

The Landing Skids found on it's larger 'brothers' are also gone, replaced by retractable wheels...though i am aweful at building wheels in Max so for now they'll stay retracted

Good morning everyone, i have posted here with my own models but nothing comes close to the level of work that the rest of are at.

With this said (i know this is not the right place but given what i am after this seems right) i am asking if anyone has a ship i can use.

A little about why i am here

I am in the process of setting up a Stargate RPG 'Fleet' and to do this i have set it in 2014 4 years after the project has been made public... I wish to have a new class of ship 305 that is a larger carrier class, maybe hold 24 -48 fighters uses Plasma weapons (and all the other Asgard goodies). If your interested then please email me at matthew.davis1981@gmail.com. I am looking for diff views of the key systems as well as a Banner for the first of it's class (name up to you of course)... If your willing and able to do this then please email me you will get full credits...

Hope someone can help...

Matthew
