How many 302's are you gonna have in the 303 refit?! the original had 8 (the hanger must have taken up most of the ship) and when put next to a puddle jumper the 302 is massive!!!

I noticed something, someone said... how do you scale down a model to match another model?!

I had 4 before the scale issue arose... i've put the refit on the back burner until i can work out how to proceed... I'm tempted to leave it as it was if the orignal took 8 and the refit is wider and longer then it'll still work... as long as i don't render the ships leaving the hanger bay

In regards to scaling the prommie to the f-302 in particular, i used the hyperspace pods and the episode Ethon as reference...

all my original stuff? I start with a 6 foot tall biped model and work everything out to 'his' height

oh not what i meant, say you have a 302 that is 1 meter per 10 pixels and a 303 that is 1 meter per pixel, this of course would not be to scale with each other, is there a way that i could bring the 302 down to the same scale as the 303?

the "scale" tool, just shrink it by the ratio needed....

What he said^^^

EDIT-
Just whipped up this image...using the Atlantis file in the download page from SGA-3D

It's not finished yet, i noticed after 95% of the render had been done that i've forgotten to map a bit of the ship... *D'OH!*

but i decided to take some photos of some stargate ships i created.

the first if of the prometheus.

little ship she is, i created a small version of her.

the secnod doesnt have a name.
but i was wondering if anyone who CAN actually model, would be able to model her for me.

shes a pretty big ship possibly a captital ship, if the pictures arent big enough im sorry i took the pics on my phone.

i did these quite a while ago.

and im requestiong if any one would, they would like to attempt at creating my model (the second one) in a 3d program thanks !

Sorry for all of the images. theres 17 in total.... I hope im allowed to post them. Im posting this in here because i have watched this thread grow and seeing all the dfifferent models hope i could inspire someone to create my new ship she doesnt have a name. but ill like some suggestions

And this is my ship designed in lego

IM sure you can tell which is the front and back

i havnt decided where the bridge is, but its probly inside the ship

Hey very very important question!!! The ICBM's (least i think they are...) on the 303 and 304... they seem to be very big, does anything think they need to be that big? do they really have to be powered all the way to the target? or would the rockets that a sub carrys be enough? i mean they are 13.41 meters tall and 2.11 in Di and can carry a nuke (well up to 16 in fact) so my question is do they HAVE to be vertical or can they be in a turret? or even lunched like a Torp from Trek... i.e from a horizontal tube?

F/A302a

This is a fighter i created (mostly coz i didn't have the skills to do a F302 ) But i thought a new fighter would be good, one that was meant just for space combat and not meant to enter the atmosphere of a planet (thus it is lighter due to the lack of heat shields...)

Specs:

L - 14.73meters
Wing span - 17.94meters
H - 2.64meters (with out landing gear)
Pilot and RIO
2 mini-gun or chain cannon of some kind, internal missile bay and external hard points for anti-ship weapon (not standard) or extra fuel tanks for long range recon.

Rocket Engine (or an Ion Drive of some kind)

And normal Jets (i should add that this is an one or the other, either a fighter jet or a space born fighter not both like the 302 (that said it has a wing span that is more or less the same...)

Nice render there Doctor Lee, which ship is that in it?
Mken, lego models are nice, put the hyperdrive pods are little further back on the prommy and it only has the 2 engines on the rear, though i suppose urs could be a mk2 or summat. the other ship looks like it could be an ancients ship maybe, or a Tau'ri with lantean tech. I might have a go at it in SketchUp but it could take a while (low on time atm), if that turns out ok i could have a go in blender. What spec are you looking at for her?
Nice fighter Rob H.

Mmmm....pie, drool
