I hear ya on the glow. But I must point out it is MUCH better in the animation. The glow fluctuates. You wouldn't believe how long the complete animation will take. I'm rendering it at 1280x960, 30FPS, Ultra Fine AA, and 6 pass Ray Tracing and it's 30 secs long, un-compressed video. That comes to 13 hours 24 minutes per frame, and that's on a 1.8Ghz Sempron PC. I don't want to tie up my big machine with a work load like that. It's a real nightmare. Plus I have about 5 years worth of stuff I want to animate and render. That's 5 years of continuous rendering. I could use some super-computer time that's for sure. A dozen Cray's should do the trick.

Thank you!

There's no post processing on 99% of my images. I post most things just as they come out rendered. I know some post work could really make them better. But I don't like to do the post work, my brain moves too fast for me to sit through that. I swear, if my mouth could keep up with my brain, I'd be getting myself into a LOT of trouble.

Hey we all know about that problem .Never enough speed , never enough power, and never enough space. Wish the net was a quizillion times faster so we could view each others animations full screen instead cut down ones or stills but hey you work with what you got.

cheers

Not CG, but i was working on my 1/1000 Daedalus master yesteday. It is shown with a 1/2500 mockup, and will be about 47cm long when complete.

I primarily use sheet styrene(It's essentially the same plastic which normal model kits are made from, but, in handy sheet form).
I also used this same material to make my 1/24 F-302.
If you have any more questions, i would be happy to answer them for you. Shoot me a PM, or E-mail me(It's in my sigline).

Well, my first Goa'uld mesh. The Alkesh. It's suprisingly hard to find useful refences, as most shots of it are from a distance, but I have enough. Not 100% accurate, but good enough.

BTW, Bar, I'm liking the stargate model in the background of your image .

Nice. Keep us updated with that Al'Kesh.
The stargate in the background is not very accurate at all. When you buy the new Figures, each one comes with a piece of the gate, and you have to collect them all to build it.
I am working on a master for a 1/24 gate right now myself. It will be a bit more accurate. Maybe not 100%, but hopefully better than the toy.
