Actually, it DID land in the water. Also keep in mind, that much of the ship is made of Trinium, which is light (although stronger) than steel. Yeah, the ship is big and heavy, but bouyancy also plays a big part of it. The ship is after all a 'submarine' in space. Plenty of air inside to keep it bouyant.

certainly after watching the siege pt3 it seems it lands on the water. I doubt the landing scene will ever be seen clearer than that as they'll probably use that same one indefinately.

For those who requested windows and a big ass gun on the Argo, it now has both. Windows on the front and the sides, and a big ass cannon type weapon at the back of the ship along with a quick energy beam I added as well

This ship is truly a beauty.
I love the mesh of Tau'ri, Alterrran, and Asgard. It's really quite inspired.
I couldn't trouble you for a set of orthos, could i?

yup ill get some together for you later as im just on my way out.

The fins came about because its the one design element that features in all asgard vessels so I figured it MAY be a requirement for some of their technologies, just a theory of course. So if the tau'ri continues using certain asgard tech they may need these in some form or another. And the ancient elements I thought they might start introducing to their ships after having studied the database on atlantis for a few years and earth designers might take inspiration...or something like that anyway lol

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting isn't anything to do with that really, I first wanted to thank and congratulate freekzilla on starting this whole thing up and getting so many people involved and its actually given me the confidence to post my first ever mesh on here. It's currently named the Argo after the ship Jason travelled on in his quest for the Golden Fleece. As you can see it borrows elements from Asgard designs (namely the fin type objects at the rear). The ship when viewed from above was inspired heavily from Alexzandyr's USAF Apollo ship

This is the first mesh I've ever gotten even close to finishing. C&C are welcome
That is lovely! I love the Asgard inspired elements to it.

Here's a strange ship I'm making. I don't think many people are gonna like it, so if you don't like it don't flame me. I'm still a newbie at this program..so there may be some mistakes that I didn't notice.

The gaps in the design make it look interesting. I am looking forward to seeing where you go with it.

i dont think anybody would flame you anyway, but I like the design. is it a tau'ri ship? it certainly seems to have asgard elements in there. I couldnt see any mistakes in there, then again it's your design (im assuming it's your design) o technically there couldnt be any mistakes in that sense. It looks like that program is a hell of a lot different to max and others.

And here's the orthos you requested Bar. The textures dont stand up too well in shots like this, the tiling/mirroring is far too obvious in them. Also attached is an image with the Argo colouring slightly different, much more contrasty (is that a word? surely not!)
