I actually got the idea from a Japanese garden door. It had a relaxed feeling to it, open and easy to pass through . . so I ran with it. Glad you like it tho'

I was going for the Necro look . . . I have that in the back of my mind as I build but I don't want it to be too dark so I am mixing it with some StarWars ideas. I tried edges on the columns previously but it took away from the roundness of the room. I am even thinking of rounding off the ceiling now . . or at least try to break up the angles were the walls meet the ceiling . . . gonna need a few days to come up with something. Right now I am going to watch " F4 rise of the Silver Surfer " I haven't seen it yet . . .
see ya'

I am with Hyperspace on the columns I like the ones around the walls. I compared it to the last few update PICs and I like it alot better than that little trim around the corners. So besides that I duno what "c4p" you had up before you gave this update. I like it though I am not sure if it completely matches the door... I think with the right textures it will seamlessly blend in. But with this view I am basing the appearance only on shape so I can't really say.

update . . I tossed the columns around the walls and added some arch details around the doors instead, makes it look cleaner. I don't know if you can see them good but you can probably see the area is cleaner less cluttered.
I am also toying with the idea of greenery but adding in flowered Vases'.

The main update is the 2nd level windows . . those are coming in . . .

I am sorry I can't give ya real renders yet seems it takes hours to rip off a single image in this scene and I don't want to tie up my machine that long.
The good point is I am days away from getting my new Mac . . .
Mac Pro Quad core is comming . . . . right now I am on an old G4 400 mhz
good machine but slow as heck.

well, this images gives up a good impression on what it will look like.

So a garden door, eh? Hehe, I remember those, so that's where the stargate took its design from. *runs*

ok . . so I started to model the very top level of this structure. this level will be above the waterline and the entry point to the complex. I am starting to get a feel for the style of archi, but I fear I amy not fully realize it until I am at least a few buildings into it. . . .
gp

Still working on this BTW . . . will add trees, rocks, coble stones . . .

Looks sweet. What about some benches and trees for shade?
Then I'm gonna take a cappuchino.
