Well . . I threw in some building mockups today so I could visually see the layout I had planned for the first level . . . at first glace it seems a bit uniform, in fact . . a lot uniform. There is enough room around town where I can erect some other structures so it wouldn't be so linear . . .
if anyone has any sugestions that would be cool.

^I like it, but maybe if you added some type of antenna towers on top of a few of the buildings it might help break up the fact that many of them are the same height. Or you could add some other type of support structures on top of some of them. Water or fuel containers, or small storage rooms, etc...

It'll be difficult filling all of that space with stuff, but you're on the right track at the moment. Bevelling in the buildings to more unique shapes will make them less boxy and uniform and could add more depth with relatively little modelling time taken up.

Thanks JeffrySG, I didn't think of that, That is naturally what is done but it never crossed my mind. Hmmm I will try that . . . of course they would have to be more fitting of what one would expect as an antenna in a futuristic city but the concept is dead on.

Armondikov . . definately right about the buildings . . the ones I have there are just mock-ups . . . actually they are only geo shapes where the buildings will go.
At the moment I am working it out on paper, how all of the buildings will look. I have some pretty interesting designs coming . . . I am also stealing a design from a real building I saw on-line, I thought it would go nicely . . here is the picture .

A nice one to copy and take inspiration from.

Just wondering if you'd also like the look of this one too:

Gateshead/Newcastle area in the UK. I've never been but I quite like the look of the building. And the Millenium bridge in front of it is quite well built too.

Update . . .
I took some time off to work on vehicles for this project . . . today I started back on putting together one of the buildings.
This structure I am calling the Hyline Building. Right here you are looking at the ground floor and level one, this will shoot up another 15 stories (level one duplicated 15 times) so the struture will wind up being 130 feet tall.

Going to start on some of the micro details next, but I am trying to keep this building under 75,000 poly's.

niftylicous (yes I made that word up)

You might want to incorporate something like the gherkin. Looks horrible in London but might fit in here,
