I complete the nuclear missile launchers.
lol, I was also thinking of adding this feature into my new battlestar. Now that we know what a colonial warship's missle silo looks like.

Dude... There has already been a big to-do about the RETURN of the pods. At one point the pods HAD been abolished, but are now back by popular demand.

Retractable pods are not possible with this kind of design.

Sirius is about 3/4ths the size of Galactica.

She lands using massive thrusters under the belly that are fuel fed from large tanks deep within the ship's hull away from enemy fire. Pretty much comes into the atmosphere slow, comes down semi-slow then slows down majorly near to ground, coming to a soft landing on massive padded legs (as in Hydrolic landing pads) She can only land and take off once without refueling though, once she leaves atmosphere, the tanks are pretty much empty or close to anyway. RCS thrusters and atmospheric thrusters run off of seperate tanks.
How about having the ship jump into space? Lift off the ground and clear it by X amount then jump. Matter of fact, jump into the planet with thrusters full blast, then slow land.

Sorry, could not resist.

Hmmm, is that just the front section or the whole sha-bang.

wow. nice work here. looks very tight and clean so far.

i see the chamfer on the larger panels of the nose. wondering if the smaller ones are beveled as well? or just a straight extrude out?

sorry, started skimming by page 36 so might have missed this info.

Alright Fellas, I have a favor to ask =) I need some input on when you think you'd like to see this project done. Keeping in mind of course I have a girlfriend that I need to pay attention to and a 38hr/week job. So let's hear it - keep the dates reasonable, I just need a deadline to stick to so I can pump this baby out!

On a side note, I'm working on concepts for the nuclear missile delivery system, My final decision is that the launchers will be mounted on the sides of the ship in a similer fasion as the point defence guns. However the mechanical aspect is currently what I am working on. I drew up a very crude schematic in photoshop earlier that might help you understand where I am going with this. I should begin work on that tonight or tomorrow morning/afternoon. I also have drawn up schematics on paper since my schematic drawing skills in rl are fare better than my mouse based photoshop skills; I'll try and get that up today.
