| Wow! I am clueless how I could miss this thread for so long, while you were building this incredible mesh! I really love the Hangar Pods, the opening really looks special, I like how it looks different on any BSG Ship I've seen so far, and yours is really my favorite! The amount of paneling is really amazing, but the addition of a panel map makes it really radiate it's beauty. If I understood correctly, one would produce such a procedural paneling map by placing several (different) tile maps in other tile maps' texture slots, maybe with mask or mix maps, too. I tried that, because a procedural paneling map is lot better than a texture map, and once created easier to handle as you can change all the parameters in Max. However, all my attempts failed, I was merely able to produce some brick patterns with 'sub-bricks' ![]() Would you like to explain the creation further if you have any spare time, or could you post pictures of some material settings to point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot so far, and keep detailing the hell out of this beauty! Maybe one day, when 3D printers are more advanced and accept multiple-part models, you could print your model and set it up in your house for every visitor to see ![]() Sorry for the poor text formatting |

| When I saw this in the thread index I was like: "What the...JustinDixon, is someone copying D4327?" ![]() Anyway, awesome work Justin, it looks awesome. What render setup do you usually use? I've been trying to work out what sort of light setup looks best without using radiosity. |
