IMHO the engines are either too short or too fat, they just don't mesh with the rest of the design, they break up the flow.

ooo...nice detail around the engines

I think the intakes would look better if the lip wasn't so wide, more of a knife edge around them

Everyone puts intakes on thier space craft (even I do), when there is no point to having intakes in space

Glad MOST of you like it. I'll see if I cant tweak the engines more, but they cant be too much longer and they require their width. Keep in mind however more engines are going to be added on the underside.

Could be reverse thrusters instead of intakes...don't think I've seen any on the Galactica or Pegasus. Makes you wonder just how they bring all that bulk out of forward motion.

The new engines look great; a more rounded look to match the flight pods.

they arent intakes or thrusters, I just havent connected the engine hulls to the mid or engineering sections yet.

I'm with Kronos 1 on this. How do they haul these muthers to a stop? They have engines the size of large factories pushing them to massive velosities, but not even a leaf blower to stop them. I'd be curious to see breaking engines incorporated into some of the current crop of BSG meshes.

Apolosies for the hijack, but it is the one part of the galactica design that has bothered me. They seem to have thought of everything else.

Don't judge a man by his medals, but by his scars.

Well the only reason they'd ever need to stop would be if they were docking/undocking - in which cause perhaps jump in and slow manuever then brake with manuevering thrusters (same way the space shuttle and others brake.

Another method would be to flip the ship 180 degrees over and push engines on 100%, this'll cancel out the original intertia until it's near zero then use manuevering thrusters to break once more.

Now that's something I'd like to see

A ship of this size flipping itself 180 degrees

and it did kind of flip/float straight up when the Cylons dissabled it in Valley of Darkness

So does it mean the Galactica could do a loop to loop??
