Maybe by then they'll have computers with enough memory and CPU speed as standard, to render it hehe. Thanks guys, and oh, I tweaked that last pic, so it's got a little more orange glow, and I baked out the orange map out some more, so it's a smidge less grainy, or well, enough before I go to bed ![]() |

Tachyons have the bonus of being very capable for jamming sensors. with a few minor tweaks, the tachyon field is used to emit an anti-detection signature to sensors, thus "fooling" the sensors and therefore blinding the puruer both optically as well as electronically. My cloak is LOT better than all that (btw, i just made all of that stuff up) ![]() |

![]() Not that I encourage it on my thread, homerpalooza67, your technobabble could use a little *ahem* work ![]() I'm only really doing renders when something merits it, or if I have something new to show... spending 2 days cleaning the mesh, so it's got 3000 polygons, but looks exactly the shade, isn't worth rendering haha. I also onlreay really render something when it's got to a 360 degree model - not just a few planes, with big holes haha While they are test renders, I often do them in the style of a full render.Glad you enjoyed my WIP Darkstone. Just a shame the forum died last year, or there'd be an even longer thread to read I hope you can see a lot of progress since the first post! The beam is a bit of a cheat haha. it's actually a subdivision flat tube (to fit the emitter) which (oddly) is a dark burnt orange, and set to about 1000% brightness, then with a texture in the transparency chanel (crumple, which inverted, looks cloudy) and one for falloff. The rest is just using that initial colour and texture and multiply overlaying it with glows in photoshop I could show you, but it's one of those 'mess about' things, that I'll probably not do the same way twice ![]() | |
