Ok here's more eye candy to help you wean yourselves off the beer

Just testing out some surfacing for the EPS conduit plasma feed for the phasers. The model in this section is being reworked, and I am still not completelly sold, but given I had only a little time this week to model, I set off a few tests, and fiddled with the settings, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Wow! That plasma looks REALLY cool! Is that some kind of noise map?
Will the whole thing have that shiny metal material, because I hink it would look good if some parts had a dark grey/black mat...still, very cool!

Yeah there's a bit of modelling and surfacing left to do on it, and it won't all be chrome

I have to add quite a bit to the interior yet and I'm still scratching my head on it

Fortunately Lightwave has lots of nice procedurals, that's one called Dented. It's processed through a gradient too, to give the streaks the right weight etc.

Oh well I failed to make you teetotal, here have a cup of blue beer. Don't forget to turn off the magnetic containment field AFTER I have left the room. (May cause minor facial melting, and or death

I'd love to do an animation of it, but it'd be a bit grainy or not rendered in my lifetime

I'll wait at least till it's a bit more finished.

I don't think the mug came with emergency bulkheads, you were lucky it had a containment field

If it's not a secret of the masters, what surface properties are you using for the chrome feel to them?
