Gosh, it's been a while since I updated this thread! I've semi-given up on that plasma effect for now. It's impressive, but it was doing my head in to control correctly, and increased the render time 5 fold, because all of the interior is reflecive, so the blur was being bounced round the room - OUCH! Might try and go with an SSS shader. Should be an excuse to try one!

For the last few weeks I've been pimping out the telescope arm, but I only have wireframes to show, if anyone is interested, as it's very much a WIP!

That render is pretty old. There's been a LOT added since then. Oh and in case it wasn't mentioned, and not obvious from the title, that one was actually rendered by IRML for me, before LW had native occlusion shading!

Yeah London is a horrible hot and sticky city, I appear to need to evolve gills to breath properly in the Underground

But it's full of very cool stuff!

Forbidden Planet had 5 Storm troopers outside of it on Saturday hehe

I did develop a cold just specially to go to London with, so I spent half of my holiday sick in bed

Should be getting an update out soon, but getting caught up with all my mail is hard work! I'm still not done 5 hours in!

Sorry Freak, I wouldn't have made good company that week, I was pretty unwell!

The holiday was a little rushed as well, we had to plan it all on short notice as my other half got a new job, with a large probation period, so we can't have another holiday for a while now! I thought everyone knew.. maybe if you came on MSN more

We'll probably be down there again at some point, so I'll let you know sooner next time

Anyway come up to sunny Newcastle.. where you can ride public transport without having to take a shower afterwards

You can come out for the northern SFM meet, and find out what Samurai really looks like

Andy yeah I know I should be on SMS more often but you my latest blog you know why have not been on it so much, but I will try and get on it a bit more.

As for coming up to you guys up north it might be a while. Keep putting off visiting my Grandparent up in Scotland with a stop of Newcastle for some time now. But I don’t think I would be able to make it up there this year. Time will only tell, and with the incentive what Samurai looks like, without having to squint at a reflection form a pair of shades, is very tempting. But I have a feeling that you guys will be back in London before I head up North.
