Mercator refit

I decided it was time for me to touch up one of my older models ( http://users.telenet.be/scara/3D/mercator.jpg ) I removed everything I didn't like and started the rebuild from there.

this is where I am so far:

The ship looks good... The first version was a nice one from what I see...
Nice plating in fact...

But a question:
Lower saucer section: From what I see, this ship has 3 phaser canons... Or is it one canon in center and 2 torpedo launcher left and right?

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

That's why I've became a Warrior of Heart, Defend the one you like, Guard the one you love...

lower saucer
center quantum torp launcher
side by side each a torp launcher

and the antenna's are sensor equipment, not lazers or stuff

oh, I was assuming that tzhey're some antennas... Like on the Galaxy-X or the Bozeman...

um... an extra launcher for quantum torps? Normally that's ridiculous since the quantum torps and photon torps are both shot from one and the same launcher...

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

That's why I've became a Warrior of Heart, Defend the one you like, Guard the one you love...

Mr. Scaramanga,
The USS Mercator looks like a sweet design, nice job

This is awesome. It's like a blend of the Sovereign, Galaxy and Ambassador classes with some of those personal touches you put in all your models.

And here's a good reason to have separate launchers for quantum and photon torpedoes; so you can fire both simultaneously.

I thought there were separate launchers (like in Eaves's Nemesis art in ST the Magazine)

p.s. Love the ship.

Nice design. Can't wait to see what you do with the model once you rework it.

All I want is a tall ship and a star to steer her by...:)
