Battlestar Zeus (BSG)

well. actually its a Zeus Class "Warstar"

Originally designed by Alexzandyr J., this is how he describes it

Quote:
The Zeus Class Warstar was designed and constructed during the third year of the Cylon War. Intended to reduce the strain on the few Battlestars, which were being stretched to thin. A Warstar's function is to provide a middle ground between the Gunstar and Battlestar. During a fleet battle a Gunstar would attack a Cylon ship with its main cannons (opening a rather large hole in its hull), and the Warstar would come in launching a salvo of nuclear devices that would usually act as the final death blow. When a Battlestar wasn't available a Warstar could easily takes its place, providing a small task force with a command and control ship. The only downside being its lack of fighter craft and heavy anti-fighter/missile batteries. During the war a total of 6 Warstars were constructed, 2 were lost.
The model itself started out as one plane and i've slowly extruded the edges and pushed and pulled all the polygons into shape (makes a man go sligthly *nervous twitch* insane.... )

This is what i've got so far.

C&C welcome

Current Poly count: 4 340
Next weeks target: Completed the Ribbing.

22 views and not a single reply... hmm guess the Battlestar mania is over huh...

So Choo you feel overlooked yet!?!

Well you know what I think of this one... Great start mate, I don't know if you're doing a replica of the design or you're going to go your own wy... Either way man I'd change that bridge section... it's just too lumpy IMHO...

Keep it up

PS. A Battlestar HAS TO HAVE 4 engines... 3 is for pu*****

EDIT: Argghh 1of33 you slipped right in there

Funny enough, the Battlestar I have been planning, actually a Dropstar (like an amphibious assault ship) has three engines like this, in the same configuration. I say go with it! If fact, if a Dropstar ever happens, I know quite a few small craft that would be right at home in her
Nice start, keep on going sir!

On a "Dropstar"...

I had a similar idea...an escort carrier kinda deal...a marine-o-centric sorta ship. I called her class of ships "Planetstar" rather than Dropstar.

In any case, I think you have a good idea there.

The Zeus ship looks cool...I'd never thought that I'd like such a blunt bow but I do.
