The wings are unfinished but I took care of that little bit. The wings are still sub-d and that bit was where I didn't have a crease line applied. The wings need a detail pass, as you will see.

Thank you. I may win you over yet. This ship has lots of great angles you haven't seen. Here's one of them...

It's funny, whenever I saw that ship I always thought it would be like a barrel in the nose too, which doesn't make much sense. Your version is great, the top view makes it look really sleek but also maintains the strength of the side view effectively.

Something just made sense to me. The guns have groves in the side of the hull, but they fade away as they go forward, which blocks the guns. Maybe the guns are supposed to sit further out to the side and the hull groove is just to seat the casing of the gun and doesn't block the barrel opening? I'm worried what that would look like.

My slightly improved and famous Enterprise Reference Pack. - 2/6/08

Man, that is SOOO hot. I loved Larsen's envisioning of this fighter and you're doing it great justice. Can't wait to see this textured and lit in a scene.

2d art is treated as a bastard child in 3D forums.
There are cultures on this planet that are just plain not ready for advanced technologies like explosives and automatic guns

Looking good man... To my defence the only difference between this and mine is the greeblehole on the side!

Looking forward to seeing what you do with that thing at the back mate...Keep it it up!

Absolutely true. I'm a big fan of the design as you built it originally, and haven't strayed very far from your work. I'll have opportunities to invent more in the nose, cockpit, bomb-bay, engine area, etc...

But to everyone who's handed me a compliment on this project I hope they keep in mind this is an interpretation of your work.

The top half of the nose will contain the standard components of a MKII era fighter. The open area down below is a large air scoop like you would see on an A-7 Corsair II (for atmo flight). the bomb-bay is under the foward fuselage.

There's more clearance than you might think when you see the gun straight on. Also the gun barrel would be recessed in the housing slightly, so the diameter is not the full size of that opening.

That makes two of us. There's so many ways I could paint this it's tough to pick just one.

That you for all the compliments. You feedback has been a terrific reward.

I went poly hunting today and optimized some crap, I played with shaders and lighting, worked on the wings. I still have more to do, but it's late and I wanted to post an update.
