Battle of Endor W.I.P. (animation)

Hi there!

I'm trying to make an animation based on the battle of Endor, from Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. I know it'll be a hard amount of work if I want it to seem like the movie, but I'll do the best as I can.

I started to animate a little random shot that came to my mind, and here you can download an animatic:

http://www.savefile.com/files/9412024

It's just 4 seconds long, but SW movies, especially the Original Trilogy ones, use a lot of short shots for their battles, instead of a few long ones, so I will make it in that way.

I used ships that can be found on SciFi3d.com, after converting them to C4D. It's late here, so I'll try to add credits tomorrow, if they're necessary.

A big render of one of the frames is attached below.

EDIT: there's no postwork in Photoshop. It will be all made in Cinema 4D.

Hi,

I think this will help your animation:

Bruno R.Marcos GameSite (Star Wars)

Take care.

Oh, hehe, I reached that page some weeks ago while trying to find battle of Endor images with Google

Sadly I can't use that game, because I'm in a Mac. But I've played Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike, and they relly help for inspiration...
Thanks anyway

Any comments?

I cant download your clip, maybe try rehosting it? (image shack?). your other stills were superb, just a few small problems with the lighting, that can probably be fixed up post-render in photoshop.

maybe u can give me a little feedback? http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/3...r-station.html

I think that you must refresh the savefile page to make the "DOWNLOAD" button appear. It's a bit strange. Probably made to avoid automatic downloads that would fill their bandwidth, and to be sure that only "humans" use it

And I won't do photoshop postwork in animations. There would be a lot of frames to adjust, and I'm still learning

Whoops, the credits!

- A-wing by Jose Gonzalez Pareja (Model/Textures), Matt Walton (Pilot) and Matt Allen (Extra Detail)
- TIE Fighter by James R. Bassett
- Mon Calamari Cruiser by Bertrand Dejardin (BOBABERT)
- Corellian Corvette by Tom Sehenuk (Author) and Fabio Passaro (Revisions)
- Rebel Frigate by Sean Kennedy (Treybor)

I had to convert all the models to Cinema 4D, and made revisions to some of them, especially in their textures.

A larger image would be better. It looks like an animatic rendered that small. Render it about the size you have in the Jpeg above and it should be quite a nice start.

Err... It IS an animatic

But the final render will be that size, too... My computer is slow
Nevertheless, with the antialiasing you could see it at full screen without seeming too crappy... Or I hope so
