Anywhoo these are the first renders in the new set up. Because i have been debugging, i've spent silly amounts of time on these cannons (rapid-fire anti interceptor cannons) whilst ive been fixing things.
Bitch, bitch, bitch.

yeah yeah, well i was going mad with a scene set up that had seemingly worked then didnt

I trawled the net and although this problem (internal exception, scene cleanup exception) seems to be common theres no accepted cure, aside from what ive done. At one point i printed out the mental ray output window but that got to 140 pages and i gave up.

I do remember someone asking me what render settings i used and when i have time i'll print them up, although i basically followed the FG/GI tutorial on Interstation, which is a good tut, gives u an idea about what does what. So my current set up is fake GI dome with a keylight but its all coming out lovely now. I did bump up the AA last night on a test and it only adds another 3 mins to the render (about 12 mins with photon emmision and the rest of it) .I havnt got a clue what that will mean when i get the rest of the geo imported but i was hitting 30+ mins a render on the old set up.

ah well, good things come to those that wait

Thumbs up Dumbfounded...

All I have to say it that is, by far, the best model I have seen on this site! How much time have you put into this? Screw all those Trekkie models! This blows them out of the water!

Thank you. I dont know about the "best" model, but....well heheheheheh no comment

I started this with the engines in late July last year. I dont really get that much spare time but with crazy late nights and stolen weekends i reckon ive done a minimum of 10 hours a week, on average, since then. If you tot it up its gotta be roughly 1 to 1 1/2 months straight work. And i think im only half way there.

Reminds me of the GOOD model work of the 70s and 80s films....mmmm
Definately needs and deserves to be animated when finished!

this is a hell of a model you got there. looks like a real warship.

the shape and weapon arrangement reminds me a little bit of a Kushan attack frigate.

sorry for my bad english
