Same here. Enterprise-B is not one of my favorite ships, but THIS is really impressive.

Well if this is a lightwave mesh, i'd like to put my name forward to hopefully get a copy too.

Working with maps now, but i think i have too much contrast going with the spec maps... the two pics shown here are using the same maps at the same settings, it's just the light is hitting it at a different angle. and im seeing quite the contrast. i like how it looks -- but is it too much?
No, I think the setting is just right, But you may wish to try it in a scene, such as a dry dock , or something else with different light sources. As for the spot lights, I would add a point light with some lens flare to give the impression of an actual spotlight being there.

CURRENT W.I.P. Optimus Prime Movie version.
Best Wishes,

Thanks everyone for the continued support!!I appreciate all comments and crits!

So one day i was sitting looking at some of my reference pics for this vessel and found several glaring mistakes. Inparticular with the impulse engine [and a few others of course]. So i decided to remake those and also the other area i was having some major issues with which is the 2ndary hull flare. Hence the reason for the lack of updates. After two attempts with the impulse engines i think i finally hit the mark fairly close. As for the flare, i just scrapped the original that took me several days to make and was able to make a cleaner more accurate [though not 100%] version.

Mapping the beast has been both up and down. i learned a great deal about the Unwrap UVW mod. I'm trying to get the tile patterns and colors as close to the reference pics as possible. But obviously, in many areas though i've had to improvise, so bare with me.

Mapping is almost done. The upper half of the nacelles and the back end of the 2ndary hull shuttlebay are the major areas... plus a few odd spots here and there.

So here are the pics for your viewing pleasure:

RB001.jpg
The one on the left is the inaccurate one. It was too long, it had the wrong shape, cut-in lines were mispositioned, and lots of mesh errors.
RB002.jpg
The top one is the older one... the new one is basically the same except it smooths a lot better grid lines are thicker and overall just 'cleaner'

Nice overall shot of where i am at with the mapping
edit:not sure what happened to pic descriptions...

It was great but now....

ITīS ALMOST PERFECT!!!

Just two nipticks:
1- Appears that you got some trouble between the green plate and the bulge.
2- Your old impulse had smoothed edges where the dark gray meets the light gray. The actual version has hard edges, breaking the smoothed lines. I believe you could chamfer that a bit.

Other than that, looks a fine job!

1-Absolutelly no!!! It wonīt be done... You wonīt see a ridiculous pokemon as a crew of my ships. And donīt ask me about technobable too, please!
2- Science Fiction itīs only FICTION. Donīt argue as it is a real thing. It isnīt!
