well i'm building..sort of.. the same thing.. the orignal excellsior.. no bloody B

even less refs for that since the original model was refited for the B.. then Lakota.. so fun for me.. but still plenty of refs.. so google it till your eyes bleed

another.. blueprint page.. wouldn't use it for the shild grid layout.. but basics are there Star Trek LCARS Blueprint Database - Star Trek Blueprints: Starfleet Vessel: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B
Google Image Result for http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/christies/lakota-christies-side.jpg

looking good!

Wherever you go.. there you are:p

Welcome to the wagon Ghanima!
It started with Eric Peterson, loooong time ago. Dr. Timelord converted that mesh to Blender and improved it a bit...

After that, I tryed to reconvert Timelord´s version to max, but I got a lot of mesh errors in this process. So, due to these troubles, I started to built my own version, and I´m still sllowly doing it.

About refs, the best ones are those from the USS Lakota. Therefore, her shuttlebay isn´t equal to the Ent-B´s one.
There are at least 03 GREAT Ent-B meshes already built (Al3d, MattC, Roliba)and, each one of them, has a different detail or a better piece built... Additionally, at 3d-gladiators you´ll find a lightwave version built by Warrior...
So, in my version, I´m taking renderings of all of those meshes as a reference too.

I believe that you got a great start with your mesh, but good look with the sec hull, cause will be a pain to make it right (I know it for myself...).

@Aresius - Thanks for those too! The ones from the Auction are great!!

@Roliba - Thanks - i think i should mention some of the ref pics i have are from you on this thread: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/3...rek-ent-b.html. Hope you don't mind, they've proved quite useful so far. Your shuttlebay and rear torp tubes are amazing. Im afraid to even start those...

@VALKYRIE013 - I checked out the blueprints from before, and was going to use them - but noticed some oddness with some of the lines. They are useful for certain things though - Thanks.

@Starship - Was Eric Peterson the first to complete this class? i have his model somewhere... I KNEW Timelord was offended about something...! I hope he's not really pissed about my lil comment, it wasn't aimed at him .

I noticed that while pouring over my ref images... somewhere along the way i will have to decide which direction i should take her. And regarding the comment about the secondary hull... Why do you think i have started it ?!?!?!

Very nice lines on this ghanima - very nice indeed! You're putty me to shame (which hey, I have no problems with ). The the details around the around the saucer. Nicely done.

I wouldn't take that bet if I were you - I know what I'm like for going back and rebuilding things

looks better than mine right now

lookin good ghanima..

small detail.. if you want to change it.. the rcs the ring around the saucer doesn't pass through it.. it goes with the triangle on top.. not through
and the side rcs is not inline.. its a bit angled back.. more than you have it..inline with the phaser array..
pics included
cheers!
