looks superb, but the neck seems to be a bit dark to me (I might just be thinking of the Excelsior though, the B may have been different)...

2cvbloke - i think you're right. At this point though; i haven't made any effort to match any of the colors to the model. That was just a 'mock' grey [well... black], that i used for now. When i reach the material phase things will look better in this area. In fact i think the real studio model has some 'rust' color on the neck which i will add in on the material. THA

MadKoi - i can't thank you enough!! Let's do lunch!

Well, i think i'm understanding why there are so few accurate Refit models out there; PLUS the distinction between an 'accurate', 'clean', 'errorless' model and one that simply 'looks' to the point... The saucer for this was done with relative ease [though there are errors in it], but the secondary hull... ... MAN!!! the hull itself was a learning curve, but that stupid add on thingy - - i think i went through 7 versions utilizing 50 different techniques to finally come up with this that just 'looks to the point'. grr...

anyway - let the trash talkin begin - yah i know there are extremely visible errors there... i will clean them up a bit down the road.

Thanks all for commenting!

I know I've said it before, but I will say it again.

if the mesh errors benefit the model and indeed make the model look truly stunning, then leave them, this is just my opinion, each artist is different and for all I know you may not be comfortable with errors of any kind.

still, I am very impressed.
