It pretty much looks real until the rotors don't spin fast enough and to me they seem to come up to flight speed a bit too quick. Also, about the dust, it looks really good except at the begining before the rotors are hardly spinning there is dust being blown up. Doesn't seem like they'd be moving enough air that slow. The movement really is awesome though.

To help you get a really good basic shape and fairly accurate, look for the blueprints of a Bell 222. This is what the original helecopter was, with some fiberglass and props. Your jet exausts need to be adjusted a tad, as they actually vent out more sideways than on your model. the white was actually a ghost grey and the black paint was actually a dark metallic grey. Growing up I thought airwolf was the best out of the other '80's action shows because it was so graceful and I loved that whine you heard when it went overhead, or the eerie whistle that you always heard. Unfortunately, they sold off the original Bell 222 after stripping it back down to its original parts to a german corperation. It has since been destroyed in an accident.

If you need help with research material, I can help. :P

Best Wishes,

No matter how you look at it it's still a fun piece of work to watch.

Nice work.

Hell yeah, it rocked! I was about 12 or 13 when it came out (born in 1971, so you can probably figure that one), and loved the show. (Still hunting down the theme music for it...can never seem to have it on my computer without the misfortune of a crash.) Kick@$$ model, btw.

Love it! This is the bird that inspired me to take flying lessons for rotorcraft... Never got near anything this nice, though. I hope that you'll add enough detail so that we can see some nice upclose renders - and dare I say it, wireframes? ^_^

As for the theme, I think I have two versions... both extended mix. I like the brassy version the best.

Cheers!

Any info or rare photos, reference material anyone has would be great as there are only a handful of sites about airwolf left running..
When i have a longer clip i'll be adding the music.
Close-ups are gonna be a while yet, i'm getting there but it's all still very messy, i'm really not a tidy modeller..

A talented guy called Jason Maiden had aided my efforts by giving me the use of his self made blueprints. Rivets and all!

Here is a quicktime vr of how the model is progressing..

looking good, but I see some issues with the tail section and the exausts for the turbines housed up top. Airwolf: New Mock-Up News is a good place for reference pictures. that should help you with the tail. Don't stop I think its comming along great ^_^
