It may give some details that aren't on the plans.
I have found something for the empty space on my living room wall through that link, the painting from the Captain's ready room....

$76 total, a pittance in British money...

Hmm, that looks like it could be a warp-sustainer engine out on the starboard rim of the yacht... either that or a really off-colour (and freakishly large) set of navigation lights!!

Thanks for pointing us in the direction of that illustration Pearse!

very cool. Not sure what those are (I don't think they'd invented "warp sustainer engines" at this point), but they look the part. I'll post more progress tonight. thanks for all the replies!

here's some work. I had Kerky rendering pretty darn good for a while, then I switched models and all the settings mixed up. oh well.

this is one of two guest staterooms. also, a screenshot showing my floorplan ideas: the specs say only two staterooms, but I've found room for another for the captain. the spec top lift is off to the side, away from the landing lift, but I've decided to save some space and combine them.

Thats strange, don't you remember what settings you had set up?

Looks good btw. I like how you can build inside and outside at the same time.

lol, hell no, I should write them down... I've been trying different settings with each new thing I do to try and find what I like best. basically randomly clicking on stuff.

Ah... so that would be the 'other' scientific method

try starting a default scene, and running through the 'sun & sky' wizard. Then for rendering use preset 6. Photon Map + AA medium. (its one of the quickest)
