1701-D/01 Calypso

I've never seen this modeled before. A little bland for some people's taste, but I'm going to see how interesting I can make it. No big changes, maybe add warp sustainer engines that won't interrupt the hull shape, and I'm going to try to lay out the interiors.

I have already found a problem: the chapter on the yacht in the TNG Manual has obviously gotten the dimensions wrong. It lists 10 x 18 x 8, but the drawn proportions are more like 10 x 18 x 4. After carefully measuring the plans I have, and considering the interior layout, I've decided that they got the vertical axis right and I'll be modeling her as 20 x 36 x 8... Unless anyone has more accurate measurements on hand.

A quick peek so far...

Looks good so far, I'm pretty interested in how your improvements are going to take shape myself...

Nice, I've not seen a modelled Calypso myself either, and as I have FlatEric's Nebula class, this Captain's Yacht could also work with that as the Nebs also have the Yacht docking bay like the Galaxy...

Have you seen Andy Probert's painting of the craft?

CaptainArrivingPAGE

It may give some details that aren't on the plans.
