It looks like you're building it along, extruding the outside of it until it closes into one complete object, rather than getting a box, and then cutting into it

Differen in a good way

Hey, don't be so self-depreciating. You're doing good work here. Wire looks just fine. If you were really so disappointed with the the model you wouldn't be posting it, so lets see some of the confidence show in your posts.

You're doing great, so be tall, be proud, be hunched over a keyboard. MORE UPDATES!

So... Um... where do you get the game models at? Do you have any extras?

Fabulous work here. Looking forward to updates.

Game models are from lwg3d.com

Managed to make some good progress today, instead of just pecking at it by a little. I got the lasers imported into blender so I can start working on those and finally realized why they're not built into the core mesh. It turns out that their designed to have recoil, kinda odd considering thy fire something massless. Managed to get the front section roughed in as well.

Ran into some issues working on the lower front of the ship. It turns out that the meshes I have for reference do not match the in game model in this area. This required me to do some serious tweaking in that area.

The first a+ttached shot shows the reference mesh the second shows ingame

Looks like a uv mapping error. the ingame screenshot should do for a reference as well though.

Its more than uv mapping, the entire design of that section is different.
