I've begun work on the drive cowling. Found a few more no planar sections in need of some flattening (Swings sledgehammer maniacally). If you look at the edge of the slot for the cannons you can see the first bit of real beveling on the project, barely. This is actually just how I wanted it to appear so I will be using that size for the rest of the ship for that extra subtle effect.

Two renders for you, one with engines on and one with engines off. Finished the Drive housing and part of the drive sytem itself. Found two nonplanars to smooth out with these renders. Once I model the other engine (mirrored) and a couple of rough details, I'll start the bridge. Then it's on to the cannons. The drive cowling was honestly the hardest thing I have ever had to model. A lot of the faces are completely free, with no axis constariants. The workst thing is that they also adjoin completely unconstarained edges. It took me at leat 4 complete retries to get a cowling I liked. I'm not looking forward to trying to cut edges for details into this.

Finished the bridge first pass. Next up are a few details in the pits just above it. I'm plaing around with some camera angles to make this ship look more aggressive/sleek/fast. Once those first pass details are complete I will move onto the cannons. A few more etched in details on most of the hull and it's ready for beveling. I'm trying to make sure that the thrusters on this ship are positioned so that they can actually maneuver the ship. Maybe if I get myself some blender/python fu I could even set up an automated rig. But first priority is getting the modeling finished. Edit: forgot attachment
