Looking Great thus far, and the Ion Cannon Piece looks (censored) awesome.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I've finished the modeling on the gun pod and am moving on to texturing. I've unwraped the guns and started with the maps.

i somehow think that you have your scale off, i think the ship is much smaller, but it does look very good

Nice progress on that one! Could be the jpg compression but i think the texture could use a higher resolution though.

Regards Roman

@Hangman: My rule of thumb for scaling Homeworld ships is to use the minimum possible size. In this case it is scaled of the assumption of a bridge module on the bottom containing large windows and suitable fro a crew of 5-10. I've been told before that my scale is off (My Scale for the Ion Cannon Frigate made it larger than an aircraft carrier), but I believe that when fuel stores, armor and subsystems(redundant) are taken into account, these ships have to be massive.

@Limdaepl: It's probably jpeg compression, the color quantization settings are pretty low by default, when I do more render I'll change compression programs so I can up the detail on the colors. The textures are 2048x2048 for just the gun pods. I've attached a half sized version.

@Xanthra: Lightwave Group 3D

@All: Thanks for the encouragement!

Looks pretty good. I would argue heavily against the worn look you're giving the hull, though. Because you have ships flying through space you aren't going to get as much wear and tear as you would in an atmosphere. I always favored the clean HW tac, but thats simple preference.

Great work, as always!
