Actually I was thinking more along the lines of what Ron Moore has stated in his blog when referring to his vision of the galactica universe. And that was he wanted some degree in believability in his vision. Less star trek more blackhawk down.

So yes I have my feet firmly planted on the ground. Moore wanted nukes, rail guns, vs. phasers and shields and so he didn't have to deal alot in technobabble.

It's interesting in that; you make what ever the client wants, so in this case a selling point would be that it would be feasible, and that makes it acceptable to this particlular client.

You only get paid when the client wants your work.

There was a part of me hoping to hear the old style raider guns make that jount jount noise they did in the original series.

People get carried away. Its part of the escapism. And part of the fun. The very same thing has happened in this forum with Star Trek and Star Wars. Nice to see BSG fall into such good company.
