*Cough* Thread jacking* *Cough*

Anyway, I'm glad you got to repost the images, Spudmonkey. Despite some of this model's...oddities, compared to Pegasus and Galactica, I'm finding that I like it.

Thanks Andrew. I'm not necessarily a big fan of the design of the Valkyrie as it's a little flat and long for my tastes. The camera angles I used for the renders make it look shorter and chunkier than it actually is

XRaider, whilst I appreciate your enthusiasm, maybe it would be better to get your friend to create a thread for his/her work rather than keep posting it in other people's threads. That way they can get comments related to their work, rather than diluting the comments of people who want to remark on the model that the thread was created for

Any chance we might be able to get a set of ortho's and/or a size comparison shot with the Big G?

Nope, sorry.

Once I'm through this cold I'll start working on the model again, but right now I can't concentrate enough to do 3d stuff

I'm sorry, but this wasn't clear for me. Are you saying that you don't have permission to post orthos, or that you just can't "concentrate enough" because of the cold. It doesn't really matter for me whether you can or can't post orthos, but I'm just curious.

Anyway, I used to didn't like the Valkyrie. The few low-quality screen caps I found on the net just didn't look that great. I though it looked cheap, as though it had been quickly thrown together. However, it's been growing on me for a while, and those high-quality action shots from Razor showed me that the Valk was actually much better put-together than I originally though.

Totally random sidetrack here, but it seems to me that the Valk is probably a newer design that the Pegasus. From onscreen dialogue, it seems as though the Mercury-class battlestars are between 10 and 20 years old. Another clue is the radically different turret design. I think it would make sense for the Colonies to design a smaller battlestar class to supplement the massive, and probably limited production, Mercuries, mass-producing the smaller ships for greater fleet strength.

And I don't know if you can answer this or not, but what are those tubes on the underside of the flight pods for? The way they're shaped. they look as if they could accommodate Raptors, but that just doesn't make any sense.

Completly what I was thinking. Although there is no real proof to support this, but could the ships at scorpion yard be the Pegasus's Battlestar Group? It would make alot of sence, the assortment of ships present are similar to a present day Carrier battlegroup. Valkyrie has always seemed to me as similar to an Aegis cruiser like role.

It was a no to posting orthos and a no to posting a size comparison.

The cold part was simply explaining why there haven't been any updates since the original post!
