Ah, I see. Like I said, it doesn't matter for me if you can't. Might be nice to see, but I have no plans of drawing or modeling my own Valkyrie-type battlestar.

And I know that it doesn't make sense for them to be Raptor launch tubes, but if you take a good look at the shape, they clearly aren't the same triangular design as the Pegasus and Galactica's launch tubes, but are in fact better suited to the forward profile of the Raptor.

I am curious, I want to understand what the thought process is in/at the Skiffy vfx dept. regarding this prohibition. I do not wish to appear to be whining. This is an opportunity to understand something that before, I didn't.

Why can you not post orthos or a size comparison? VFX desires to keep these things secret. Why? I can't see how this stuff could hurt them from an IP/financial standpoint, but then again, I can't see every angle of the issue which is why I'm asking in the first place.

If you people keep pestering him on this, don't be surprised if he doesn't post it here anymore - I recommend you all let it drop and just enjoy the modelling.

OOh while we're asking for impossible things, can you do me a full station render while you are at it

Guys... take the hint, drop it!

Visit my Endless Pluto Station project, I'm still working on it, honest!

I'll cover the size comparison part of the question.

First, I don't have a Galactica model

Second, I don't have an interest in doing it ()

Third, the model I have built is in Max units and does not reflect the actual size of the original model, unless I have somehow managed to guess the actual length accurately, which is highly unlikely. I don't even know if the original model was modelled to scale or just made up, but I would guess the latter as it was only really used for stand-alone shots where you can't compare it to other ships

Finally (though I could go on!) I don't have an accurate size for the Galactica either, so any comparison would be guesswork on my behalf. I have no idea if the guns, launchers or engines are supposed to be the same size as those on the Galactica. I don't know how big the bridge is. I can't tell if the pods are bigger or smaller. It would all be a guess, and much akin to working out the correct size of Star Trek ships based on the relative size of the component parts, and god knows there are enough disagreements about that

Ummm....no. Design may be different but a raptor doesn't fit.

sorry about that, at least it was somewhat related to the subject of the thread

It's just one of those etiquette things. An unwritten rule if you like! Some people get really upset about it
