Now onto the next part. The Shuttle pod. I had an idea to have the cockpit area detach as an escape-pod-ish sort of craft. A short ranged independent vessel that sets inside of the Shuttle/Fighter body itself. I don't plan on having much detail on the exterior of this piece. So really the next part is the cockpit interior itself. | |

| Can't wait to see this beauty fully fleshed out. The Decker itself, & her hopper-fighter auxiliary craft. |

| I've pretty much completed this unnamed vessel. I managed to pack in three seats in the cramped space of the pod and added it to the shuttle mesh. The only thing that really remains would be texturing. Right now the only texture I've added is the LCARS (same screen on all three consoles since I'm lazy like that). Created the console interface in Photoshop, the solar system in that screen was rendered in VUE. -edit- Oops! Looks like I left the DS9 starmap on my LCARS. I was using it as a placeholder. |

| One thing that always got to me about Startrek Shuttlepods was they were simply a Box. No visible Engineering area, no deflector control or phaser bank power area, no gas archives for thrusters, nothing! It was really like an afterthought when you look at how much space the Warp core, power counduits, deflector control etc took up on the Enterprise / voyager. It always should have been at the least proportional to the rest of the craft. This is what i like about this Shuttlecraft, there is plenay of reserved space of all of the above. Great Job! :-) |
