Man I wish I had those ref pic's when I started this build...LOL. The model isn't exact to the original as you can see some differences. And I'm adding a lot of features and detail to enhance the design's realism.

I'll actually be renaming this design to suit my own universe (with appropriate credits to the original artist of course) The ref page you linked is actaully a little inaccurate. The Kuralis class in the original GalForce Manga is an Escort Carrier not a cruiser.

Pretty small control room, more like a small observation room from the looks of it

It's the ops control compartment for the number 1 landing deck, docking bays 1A and 1B. It doubles as an airlock so the attending crewmen can rapidly exit the compartment up onto the landing deck if needed for various ops reasons. The standard uniform for personnel working in the ops compartment during landing deck operations is an environment suit though they are not required to keep the helmet donned unless EVA deck work is to be conducted and the compartment is depressurized.

bubble

I started playing with some lighting in Kerk and did a test render of the control dome. The bottom row of windows are not filled with glass yet. I think I need to increase the redness of the interior light as it came out sort of pink..., LOL

you will likely find in your experimenting with kerkythea, that the light acts much like it does in real life. Red light+ white room = pink color in your render.

Good stuff, looks like you are becoming a modeling addict.
