Yeah like the rest of the hull.....

It looks great and the attention to detail is above what most would consider sane, you are to be applauded for your commitment!

Do it well or not at all.

There is actually a pretty good reason why I have not finished the rest of the hull: Since the two flight hulls are identical I only have to build it once. But once I attach it to the main hull I won't be able to separate it and paste it back in accurately enough if I need to work on it again. Sketchup has some frustrating limitations when it comes to this type of issue. So, I want to completely finish the flight hull before I get to work on the connecting structure and start to do the final detail on the main hull...

The stupid control dome alone has taken me three days and it's not done yet.

Well here comes some more detail....

This is the landing deck on the port flight hull. One of my favorite things at work is an airport lit up at night..The taxi way lights are my favorite color of blue so I was inspired to work in back lit landing deck guide lights.

Bright green: Landing vector
Blue: Deck perimeter
Pale green: Landing deck available (changes to red when deck is closed)
Red: Deck threshold

I'll be working in additional lights to mark the two landing spots better, to mark the elevator, and light up the big caution marking.

Gee, I wish Max lights were that easy to use. I like the thought you're putting into all of this. You're ship is looking good.

It took a lot of trial and error to get it right. but the fact that the Sketchup interface is like stupid simple has helped speed up the learning curve. The one thing that is a little frustrating is the lights available in SU from Kerkathea don't include a self luminating panel. That would make this stuff even easier. Especially when I tackle back lighting the control panels in the control dome...I know how to do it now but it's very tedious.

A pair of Kuralis class carriers on patrol....

I did this to illustrate that I was done with the primary build of the connecting hull..

Lot's more to still come...This image was unlit for a quick render.

Continuing work on the never ending details...added some greebles...detailed the communications array and installed the navigational deflector. Also started playing with some hull weathering...see the first post in this thread for a close up..
