I had an idea that seemed to turn into a small personal yacht.

Advanced Ion Thrusters

Just working on an idea for some advanced Ion maneuvering thrusters. I'll probably make this a component and then use it on some of my designs.

There is a fair amount of space within the octagonal box for plumbing and such for the four outer nozzles, , so I'd be tempted to make the central one almost flush with the face of the octagonal box, with just a hint of nozzle projecting.

Thanks to Soran77 ( ) sending me a texture pack he found on an old web site that hasn't been updated in 5 years I have been playing around with my shuttle's look. I've added some piping on the sides, a bunch of inset detail on the bottom dome, louvers at the back and changed the shape of some of the smaller stuff. I am slowly (Okay, very slowly) getting work done. I like the textures but will probably modify them some what.

I think I will have to work on the main engines as straight pipes are so boring. I think I will also use the advanced maneuvering thrusters I am developing on the shuttle too.

I'd love to hear some constructive criticisms from all of you who have taken a look at this thread. Any way, I do hope that you all enjoy seeing some of my work as I strive to get better at this way cool 3D thing

Hey there Monkey Boy

So you mean that if I take the center thruster and recess it into the octagonal box it would make better use of the internal volume of the box?
If so I think that I could do that without a problem

As for plumbing, yep, gotta do that too!

Thanks for the comments

loving that yacht, reminds me of progenitor movers

but the shuttle....I dunno, the front looks too much like something out of lego to me, it just doesn't flow with the design imo because the overall ship is horizontal and then you have such a heavy shape contrast all of a sudden

earlier ships look great though, will be watching this

Added a ring around the vertical front and changed some of the textures on the front too. Looks a little less lego like but will continue to look at changes and greebles which might help. I just like the vertical hammerhead look though. But I am open to making it look better!

I have to get back to the yacht too. I get so distracted with new ideas all of the time. I would love to finish modeling something one of these days!
