Didn't Han Solo push Boba Fett off one of those things in ROTJ?

Very luxurious with the teak decking!

Will it have engines or be anti-gravity? (sorry not familiar with the original inspiration)

Agent Starling, meet Mr. Acherontia styx,
Better known to his friends as 'the Death's-head moth'.

Did some more work on the Space:1889 ship. Installed the propeller, aileron and deck stanchions. Still have to finish the final placement of those though. Have to put in all kinds of deck furnishings too.

Monkey Boy: it uses Martian lift wood for anti gravity. Steam power: coal or oil fired boilers and triple expansion steam engines with propellers for propulsion. Sail is used as well, sometimes in conjunction. If the craft is meant to fly between the planets then they use ether. The game was based on the idea that the Victorian ideas were right. All the planets have life.

The victorian trains and steam ships of that era had alot of mechanicals showing, a few gears, piping etc try adding some details like that to physically link your boiler to your blade.

That sort of stuff and they still used alot of rigging too.

Do you intend to use this for a game?

Hey there S.W.Ninja

Cool pic. Don't know how much detail I will put in it as SketchUp will only go so far before it chokes. Also there is a lot of details that once you have a curved face then the program is almost impossible to work with. It was for architecture originally.

I'm not making it for playing a game with myself but if you played Space:1889 then you would play it in that game.

i would change the teak boards to oak or larger, fatter and darker beams? the pivot on the rudder looks a little in the thin and flimsy side, you have improved immensely since you first began modeling !

I could do that, I'll just have to find a nice picture that would do to replace the one I'm using currently. It would be a lot nicer if it was a dark wood. Just for fun it might be interesting to find a good decking picture and make it look like it was painted red just like on the gun decks of the old fighting ships to hide the blood

The pivot is a little thin. But the plot is even thinner...

Thanks for the compliment too. I've been trying pretty hard to get better. There are so many limitations with the program though so I have to find work a rounds.

there is a stock oak beam texture in sketchup and if you right click and choose edit you can change the light/darkness of the wood as well as colour?
