| Guy Who Is Tall | "Earth believes the Romulans to be warlike, cruel, treacherous. And only the Romulans know what they think of Earth." ![]() Coming along nicely, but I have NO idea how I'm going to do the wings. |

| Guy Who Is Tall | Yeah, I wanted to have a Balance of Terror SE by Christmas, but that's getting pushed back accordingly with Set Sail running late. But it's definitely on the middle burner. |

| Fantastic - I love the Romulan BOP, tried to make one a while back but I had trouble with it's rear, never tried to do the wing unfortunately. However you are the TOS Guru so I am not worried |

It turns out it wasn't THAT hard. I thought there was a much smoother join between the wings and the hull. There isn't. So I extruded the base of the hull up at the angle I wanted for the shape of the wing, extruded that up for the wing itself, used a little sub-surf to smooth out the curves on the wings (sub-surf means never having to say you're co-planar), added the curves at the leading and trailing edges, and easy-peasy. Looking at the model and McMaster's plans, it's a very "sculpted" ship. Fin! And a gun! Now on to the windows (they all protrude a bit from the hull, so no texturing this time out) and then a fresh coat of paint. Surya is first for the paint shop, then this gal. | |
