Ive been keeping tabs on your work, just havent found anything to respond to until now If you're having difficulty "picturing" what shape you need to come up with, i suggest looking through the 2d and 3d galleries until you find blue prints or sketches that you like, and try modeling from that. i suggest waiting until you have a vacation from work/school/holiday so you have plenty of time for trial and error. Personally, i have dabbled in 3d myself, using max 7, but i have no time to learn properly , so i just give feedback and advice to others. I am a little dissapointed with your bridge, i was expecting that the kitbash you had was merely a stand-in so you could model your bridge using that as a reference.

And when do you see an insignia class ship?

Aresius.
Ditto.

Homer.

What do you mean?

You also said:

Is that when supposed to be a where? If so, I just meant the concept. you would have a core at the center of the saucer, say the the inner 1/3rd of it. The outer 2/3rds of it would be divided into several, 4-6 sections or modules, which could be tranferred for different requirements.

http://www.scifi-meshes.com/gallery/...1/insignia.jpg

If you look at the underside of the Insignia, you will see "lines" extending from the center of the saucer to the perimeter. Those are the seams between the different sections or modules.

Cameron.
nice to hear from another person.

Aresius, that is what I was thinking about, but more like the Kittyhawk Class Saucer style, But on a Galaxy oval. THanks for the link to that page, I found some other useful referneces there as well.

Here is render of the whole interior complex, so far. It includes a medium size sick bay, Whih will be separated from the AOC at a later date.

Tonight if possible, I'll delete the Main Bridge table and Scoot everything on the Bridge foward a bit. Maybe start on the new saucer section as well.

That was post number 55, and i have been waiting for you to post a finished version. I enjoyed the direction it was going, but if remember correctly, you said that you started with another bridge and made modifications ("kitbash").

And I meant, "when is an Insignia-class ship seen on screen in the series or movies, or is it a complete fan design?"

Homer.
your right that I said I will do those things, and I still hope to, it just that I have one problem. FOCUS I come up with a list of things to do in a certain order, and I start, but then something catches my eye (i.e. the shuttlebay and the actual ship) which I doodle with, and it starts off well, so i just keep at it. this is both an advantage, and a disadvantage. Advantage, because it keeps me from bogging down and just dropping the project; so if I have a bad day with one part, I toy around with the others until I start rolling again. It is a disadvantage though, because I will start one step, hit a roadblock, start on something else, and at times completly forget something else, until the end.

Now about the stuff you mentioned.
A. the Holodeck - I havenot forgotten it, but it should be relatively easy to do, so I am saving it for a roadblock day.

B. The Saucer - the Design no longer fits the ship

C. Sick bay, I hit a roadblock and started the shuttlebay

D.Table was taken care of, but ran out of time to render and started something else the next day.

Got tot go, will expand tomorrow.

No problem, and H key is back!!!
I really like the design of the bridge and surrounding areas, I was thinking the dip in the floor where the square table is, I was thinking that could be a CIC.

In Star Trek, CIC is usually integrated into the bridge controls. Sensors, OPS, Comm, Helm/Navigation (sometimes separate) Tactical- all integrated into the bridge. For a Squadron-CIC, that would be the flag bridge, with some redundancy in engineering.

Homer.
Sorry about not finishing answering all of your post yesterday, but My ride home showed up and I had to run. Well back to that and the new stuff.

The Insignia is a fan ship.

Its not ADHD, its just that if I force myself to stick to one thing, I start to go stale, metaphorically speaking. It also allows me to integrate the different parts better, as I will be thinking about both at once, so for me the things are more likely to go together better.

Cameron.
Homer is right about CIC. If you look back through the thread, towards the beginning, there are some topdown pics of the bridge, at an earlier stage. towards the bottom of the pic you'll see a sphere with a platform extending into it. This is the AOC/Tactical. A large room, it is a cross between Stellar Cartography and to some extent the videogame Homeworld 2. There is a better description in the first few pages.

HOPE THAT COVERS EVERYTHING IN YOUR POSTS.
